Currently we are stuck getting them from a dealer. The cost is about $160 depending on which bike it is for. Some of us Uly guys have been looking at a possible non-dealer source for belts. |

I got one from my local cycle accessories shop (Dynamo Cycles-Corpus Christi) from Gates. Matched up the teeth and width, etc, and found one that was right. It lasted about 4 months then left me on the side of the road. (This was on my XB, Pre-CR...) Buy the one from Harley/Buell. It's worth it. Rob |

Yep. Shit happens and they break. |

My "forever" belt lasted two months. To be honest, having the muffler bolt back out and lock the idler pulley at 60mph probably contributed to the increased wear rate. KeS |

Dont confuse lasting forever with a service life with no scheduled replacement. A chain will wear out, the belt wont. They can be subject to damage though. |

Think of the windshield in your car. It will last the life of the car UNLESS something happens to it. I just lost a windshield in a 2 week old car. Fixed it. Things are fine. |

The belts are very tough now vs. a few years ago technology. I have a belt on Loretta with over 7000 miles that rode under the seat, coiled up tight, for two months. Thanks again, Court! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/440981.html?1238212241 |
