Call me a fair weather fan if you like. I couldn't care less. But I absolutely bought the Buell because it was the cheapest bike on the market. I was looking at a Hypermotard because I've heard how fun they are to ride, I like how they look, and the performance is really all I want for a streetbike. However, I just I couldn't pass up such a deal on the Buell. I have no great attraction to Buell or the 1125R, but I figured that I can afford to do a heck of a lot to make it how I like it and I have a two year warranty. It's simply a great bike for the price. Kinda homely, but the looks are growing on me though It's just a bike, not a religion. |

Your right it is a bike not a religion. But that's why I liked Buell cuz it wasn't full of squids and was all nice helpful people. I didn't like the attitude of the Japan bikers. Oh I'm a young "kid" too. I was always the youngest person at every Buell event I went to. But having a Buell was more then just another bike it was almost like a club that's starting to go away and well all the "other people" are buying them now the Poole who bashed em before when they couldn't afford em or didn't give em the time of day or said there not real sport bikes. Look at all the flaming on the 25r sec..... u don't c that on the big bad and dirty sec do ya? Didnt think so thats all I'm getting at. Lets ruin what Buell is and known for and the old time buellers and hell while were at it lets make the bike worth as much as a 1990 Geo metro! |

Kaotikevo, one of the last 2010s I knew of just sold on eBay for $9500. And I'd say that's a pretty good price considering how many are out there. |

apparently there is still a "pool" at the factory and there are still 2010's available to dealers. He hemmed and hawed a bit, but when i said cash he said ok, and FWIW, he's positive he can get more in. |

when i asked him about the locater function on the moco page, he laughed at me. The dealers just don't want to order any more in because they have to pay the moco full price, and then their rebates come in the form of parts/accessory credit I guess. According to him the margins on the buells were significantly lower than the hd's. I still find myself amazed at the way the moco has always treated buells like their redheaded stepkids. |

+1 Rockstar Thats a big reason why I am so hesitant to sell my X1 even though it would be the responsible thing to do. It keeps me in the old school buell club. |

Rockstarblast1, I never "flamed" the 1125R, it just wasn't on my radar when it cost 12 grand. To be honest I like Ducatis more, but I didn't see any sense in paying an extra $5000-6000 just because I like how they look better. It was purely about value for my dollar. BTW, I've known about Erik Buell since I visited his house in Mukwanago Wisconsin back in 1985 to have him put some of his experimental aluminum core brake discs on our team's TZ750. I saw the RW750 on the work table in his shop while I was there. So I have watched Buell for a long time and I was waiting for a non-Harley motor to show up before I would seriously consider buying one. The price was right for me and so I joined this board to gain some knowledge about what makes the 1125R tick, and hopefully make a few friends too. But it really isn't about it being a Buell. It's about riding motorcycles and sharing a little about the experience along the way. |

ditto Family Buells, I was going to buy a Ducati till I found out I could get a buell for 1/2 price. I think there are plenty of us now on this site that would not otherwise own a Buell were it not for the great deal we got. That's not a slam on the bike. I love mine, but I love it more cause I only paid $5500 out the door |

Kaotikevo, my 1125R came from Ukes Buell in Kenosha, WI. They had a couple of '09s for $6500 or $7000, I forget which, and one '08 for $4350. They initially told me that the bike was being sold as used and had "under 100 miles" on it. I assumed that it had 80 or 90 miles and had been out for more than a handful of test rides. They said there was a $59 doc fee, a $100 crating fee (I had it shipped to me) and a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card. When the bike arrived, it had 28 miles on it and came with a certificate of origin, implying it was new. The warranty card said new bike with the warranty starting on 12/15/09, which was the day I paid for it. The total price from Ukes was $4659, if memory serves. Shipping cost me $130, and tax, title and license was a bit over $300. My wife knows where the paperwork is but I'm not going to wake her up to find it for me. I'll post a picture tomorrow. I assume that your apology will be forthcoming. |

No problem, Kaotikevo. I'd call BS on a '10 for under $5K. As promised, here's my purchase contract. http://www.thefleshrocket.com/images/bike/1125r/Bu ell_purchase_contract.pdf Just to clarify, mine was the only bike they had at that price, and I never asked why it was so cheap. (You know, the whole "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" thing. LOL) They did have a couple of '09s for either $6500 or $7000 (I forget which) but that was the middle of last month and I don't know if they still have them in stock any more. |

Giddy up! I thought I got a deal for $6k otd...I'm psyched that these bikes are out on the street in mass. Sucks that it was forced...I'm the same way, loved Buells to test ride but own european bikes. The price could not be beat and my 1125r is awesome...my buddy with an RC51 is looking for one. I didn't think this when I bought it, but now it's a keeper! |

You will never get a new bike like this one for this low of a price. Once they are gone, they will be gone. WE have all been getting these bikes at a really good deal. Don't wait too long, or they will be gone. REX |

I'd be all over it. I bought my '08 a while back. I was upside down on my trade in and bought the 1125r at the then full price. Long story short I still owe $12.5K as of yesterday. I get sick when I see the deals that folks are getting now. Oh well, I'm retired military so I learned a long time ago how to grab my ankles. ha ha For that price I'd buy two. Oh wait, I'm already paying for two. I have to love my Buell cause I won't be able to get rid of it for a long time. Hey, $#it happens. Kick butt EBR!! |
