I try to stay as safe as possible. Accidents happen and I am not stupid enough to believe that they can't happen to me. For most of my distance rides I wear my Tourmaster Venture pants. They aren't terribly hot in the summer with the liner removed and they are all around quite comfortable. The problem is that they are a bitch to take on and off repeatedly. I don't like to wear them when I am not actually on the bike. I picked up some Icon Victory jeans and I am very pleased with the fit and finish. I also bought some Icon Field Armor leg protectors to wear under them and they don't really bother me to keep on. My question pertains to the efficacy of the jeans in a crash. If you have wadded it while wearing a motorcycle specific jean, I would like to hear how well they held up. Anybody? |

I'd like to hear as well. I can accept the "nuthin is as good as leathers" argument. But are guys like Umatt and myself giving that much up by wearing kevlar jeans and padded shorts? |

YES YOU ARE !!! if you ever slide in a jacket/pants that are leather/not leather combo, you will find that body parts sliding on leather fare better than their textile counterparts. NOTHING beats animal hide for protection of your hide i am a lifetime screw-up and know many facets of crashing. i know that protecting your body is more important than anything else, because everything else can be replaced......
