Looking at all the miles and miles of straight roads I would have to ride, just to get there, I've decided I'm going to truck my bike down to the gathering. It just doesn't make sense to me to burn up a perfectly good set of sticky tires, just getting to an event, and then possibly having to mount a new rear tire, just to get home...
hmmmm, I remember someone commenting about "trailer queens" at the 25th... Now who could that be???
Bart, as long as you and Debbie can be there it does not matter at all how you get there. Sometimes it is just a lot better to trailer and ride the crap out of the roads than to wear yourself out getting there and back. Maybe you can talk Kelly and his girl to come with you again.
Get your early bird discount with Camp Live Oak. I was catching up on mail and opened a letter from Camp Live Oak. Say if you made a reservation for this year, make deposit by today and receive 10% discount on entire stay. I made it under the wire...
Got my letter as well Loren.... I really need this trip. It will be great to see everyone again. Between the S2 Gathering and Homecoming I will pick the S2 Gathering every time.
Frank, That was me bashing the "trailer queens" LOL. I think we will be bringing Debbies XB9SL also. I still feel guilty about not riding to an event, I've never hauled any of my bikes to an event, but dang there are a lot of LONG, straight roads between here, and there! Kelly and Lisette are thinking about it, Kelly's Kawa is down for the count right now, needs some TLC, and he probably wouldn't bring his Suzuki, but he would probably come along if I let him ride my XB12, or the ST1300, hehe.
Well, just so y'all know it'll be worth it (however you get there), here's a l'il vid I shot at the most recent Thrills In The Hills ride this last Fall, of RR 337 between Leakey and Vanderpool:
Part 1
Part 2
These were shot with my "hacked" CVS "one-time-use" video camera, taped to the headlight of my S1 (hence the HD quality) Enjoy! HellBuelly J
HellBuelly J Next Time mount camera on post above seat behind you so we can see Bike and speedo,Tack. I was watching while on my rowing machine.Nice! Butch
Looks great Loren. Can I get the file, I would like to have the lettering for the top part "S2 Step"... I have an idea for something for those that are attending (at least the ones that I have their VIN on the owners list which is just about everyone save one or two)
Shane, I am sending you an email unrelated to this.
Dang, but them cabins are expensive! I'm going to have to make sure Kelly and Lisette come along just so we can share a cabin. You guys must be loaded to afford these places!
Bart, didn't yo momma teach you how to share? 2 room cabin, regular season, $85 Split between 2 "entities" (single, couple, alien, whatever) is only $42.50 per night. Not too bad these days. Split between 3 (though you'd better really like each other ) is only $28.33 per night (Motel 6, anyone?). Also, for those so inclined, Butch is cool with tent camping once the cabins are full. And finally, Frank is right. Having the whole place for just us loonies is truly awesome! Can't wait to see y'all again! HellBuelly J
Hey all, looks like Janel can't get the time off for the upcoming festivities. I have one of the small cabins reserved. Anyone need a place to crash (oops), I mean lay your head? Barring that, anyone have room for a newly retired MSgt?
