Hi all-- I'm shopping for a Blast. THANKS for all the advice & recommendations & info on this board! I think I would like a white Blast, but it seems like there aren't as many used white ones as blue, red, yellow, black. Some posts here mention orange? Purple?! Whoa. I haven't found (yet) . . . does anyone know . . . which colors were available each year? Thanks again! |

Okay I have found some info from totalmotorcycle.com and motorcyclistonline.com 2009 Sunfire Yellow, Arctic White or Midnight Black (http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2009models/2 009-Buell-Blast.htm) (which conflicts with . . .) 2009 Sunfire Yellow or Midnight Black (http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/2009/buell/blast /pictures/05/index.html) 2008 Arctic White or Midnight Black 2007 Arctic White or Midnight Black 2006 Battle Blue or Midnight Black 2005 Battle Blue or Midnight Black 2004 Midnight Black or Sunset Orange I suspected white was later model years. I might have to spend more time saving $$$! :P Can people add authoritatively. . . ? |

A quick Google search of this site confirms that black is the fastest color. |

Also, you might consider buying the best Blast you can find and trading plastics with an unnamed owner at a later date. |

Also, you might consider buying the best Blast you can find and trading plastics with an unnamed owner at a later date. Concur! Body panels are relatively easy to change and are universal in fit. White was 2007-?? Black- all years and will likely always remain a colour choice. Continued research will yield all the colour answers, I dont have time right now. 2009: Yellow, black and white (confirmed) 2005: Black & "battle blue" (confirmed) 2002: yellow, black & "grape juice" (confirmed) 2000: black & "bulls eye red" (confirmed) FWIW: all colours come up on e-bay, eventually, in varying degrees of condition. Dull will not ever likely become shiny again. Black: most popular and usually commands the highest price. White: A crap shoot. Sometimes a high price, sometimes given away. Yellow, grape, blue, red and orange are about even in popularity and price. Dont expect a bidding war and if you find you're in one, then pass unless its a brand new set and you really want brand new. There is always someone who wants a different colour so see about trading first. Again though, everybody usually wants to trade for black!

Based on private party for sale ads (mostly here in the Pacific NW) (in the last few months) (almost all craigslist) I can add: 2007: blue 2003: black, yellow, red 2002: red 2001: yellow, red Thanks to all contributors! |

FWIW: You should remember that since the colour is easily changed, the Blast you buy may not match the colour on the title or be the original colour. |

"Sunset Orange" was available 2004. Here's a summary of above for easier reading: 2009 Sunfire Yellow, Arctic White or Midnight Black 2008 Arctic White or Midnight Black 2007 Arctic White, Midnight Black, blue 2006 Battle Blue or Midnight Black 2005 Battle Blue or Midnight Black 2004 Midnight Black or Sunset Orange 2003 black, red, yellow 2002 black, yellow, red, or grape / grape juice / purple 2001 black, yellow, or red 2000 black or "Bulls-Eye Red" I like Crackhead's idea "i think some pics of the colors. . . ." I wasn't aware at all of the orange or the purple/grape/other blue! Has it always been the same shade of red? Has it always been the same yellow? Now I'm thinking the sun can have a real effect on the Surlyn. There haven't been *too many* Blasts to go look at; I might have to give up wanting white. NBD. Or I'll see you all later wanting to swap plastics. |

Sadly, I went to check the Buell website for colours and they dont even list the Blast, anywhere, for 2009 (2010 is obviously not listed). I thought 2010 only had white and black for colours? If you'll notice on my list I put "confirmed" after the year. That means I checked factory literature. If anybody has actually checked factory literature (or website) for colours please list it so. As I mentioned before, just seeing a Blast for sale in a certain colour does not necessarily mean that colour was available that year. Lastly, I really appreciate everybodys input and research. THATS what makes Badweb. When one person (or just a few) always has to come up with all the answers and info it can cause burn out, even in the most ardent of Blast fans. Badweb: sharing knowledge, not hoarding it! |
