I've talked to a few people who bought the GoPro HD camera and so far 2 of us have broken the black latch while using the open back. 2 others have said it seems like the open back requires far too much force to latch, one of them fixed this by removing the rubber gasket. If you have one of these cameras, you might want to check and see if the open back requires considerably more force to close than the regular back. You will notice the difference immediately. If it is very much more difficult you may want to contact GoPro and ask them what to do, they will probably say it is fine and just keep using it. If you keep using it look at the latch regularly and remember that if that latch fails while the camera is mounted, the camera can fall out and be damaged. I may be jumping the gun a little on this issue, but I just have a feeling that this is going to become a much more widely spread problem in a very short amount of time. |
