P.S. Alas, my quest for the 'hat trick' was foiled as the best price I found on a new black Blast was $200 off list while many dealers were charging over list.  One dealer to remain un-named was charging list($4,795) and tried to convince me it was $1,000 off. |

How exactly is the lower guard suppose to keep the belt from contacting the exhaust?
I would assume that if your belt is loose enough to touch the exhaust then youre going to wear through that plastic guard in no time.
Plus the belt dont stretch like that and you can not change the axle mount on a stock bike, so the belt should never be loose enough to touch the exhaust. |

I had the belt guards off my XB for 4 years with no problems! |

I don't think it would look that "odd" without the belt guards if the pully wasn't so big. It does look a little too bulky with them on but IMO it looks better than taking them off with that huge pulley. |

Hybrid...the lower belt has a piece of metal on the exhaust side of the guard. I took mine off and looked at it, but noticed some rubbing so I decided to leave the lower guard on until I got an aftermarket exhaust. |

Forerunner...how come you took off the rear wheel hugger? How bad is the spray when its raining/wet ground? |

West,
Removed the hugger for the same reasons as the other pieces, aesthetics.
Riding through rain will paint my back wet with the tail removed/shortened.
I think the hugger keeps the underseat and shock from getting wet but I don't generally ride in the rain unless I get caught in it. Have not seen any adverse effects since I bought new in 7/06.
1125 still too new to have any history with me but I don't anticipate difference results.
