took my s1 out for a spin tonight. i ran the tank dry on it on the way home last time i rode it, so i went and filled up. the thing will just die if i push the enricher back in. if i keep the enrichment lever out it will stay running but pops, backfires, misses, and in other words sounds and runs like shit. at any throttle setting other than wide open throttle at wide open throttle it runs normal. ? |

if it was fine before and this just happened, I would guess it's a clogged slow speed jet. |

Agreed. You must have some crud blocking a jet or passageway in the carb body. Rx: Disassemble and clean carb and fuel petcock screen. When you ran it dry, sediment from the bottom of the tank could have clogged the filter screen or, if it got past the screen, into small places in the carb. The good news is that it is an easy low-cost fix. |

A vacuum leak downstream from the carb/throttle body can also cause this. |

I'm guessing crap in the carb. My M2 does that pretty much every spring, thanks to the "new improved" gasoline formulations. |

I would guess that you have a cracked intake manifold O ring. Jeff |
