In this Topic: http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/artikelen.asp I will keep all the data together about tuning a Bone stock 1125CR, from zero and later on with our 1125 CR stage 1 KIT. Questions about our stage 1 Kit and what we do can be posted here and will be answered when possible. |

Will there be a stage 2 kit? |

Blackflash, I first want to contact Eric Buell, to see what he is going to offer, if his offer is oke, or if we can work together We will do the ECM tuning for that. So we have to wait, I send him a mail already.. We would like to work first for the 185 HP setup, for our own race bike and finish the fuel map for that, we think we can't be competitive enough, if he makes the kit we aint going to make them.. |

Easyrider, great stuff. Only thing I'd ask for is something explaining all the Dutch terms on the graphs. In particular, the Lucht/Brandstof Verh. chart is baffling. I am not sure what I am looking at there. |

Easyrider Is he able to sell the stuff that he couldn't before . Race required stuff? |

Ratsmc, the Lucht/Brandstof Verhouding means= Air Fuel Ratio. It is the AF mixture measured in the header of the bike. So you can see how rich-poor it is running on every throttle degree and RPM. |

Blackflash, I think we all have to wait for a awnser, as soon as I see something on http://www.erikbuellracing.com, I let you guys now, and if i receive any mail form them with info i will share.. |

finished the stage 1 kit: http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/artikelen.asp?aid=71 The graph shows, the first bone stock 1125CR no tuning, stock exhaust stock filter. (red line) The Blue line is same bike with Twin Motorcycles stage 1 kit. I will post later on more graphs (Message edited by easyrider on January 06, 2010) |

Very impressive numbers. Is the stock ECM still fully functional or did you disable the lambda control and adaption? |

yes hopefully we can get enough people interested for a group buy |

Xelerator, I disable the lambda, because I cannot let them do what I like.. |

If there's a "group buy" price is that only likely to apply to the US contingent (I can understand if it does because of the shipping costs) but I'd be interested too... Only (of course) I am in the UK.. Actually i'm seriously tempted to take a trip over to NL again this summer and stop by to pick one up and get the ECU mapped... |

I assume the ignition map has also been modified, what fuel quality is it based on? EU 95, 98 or 100-ROZ? |

European 95 RON is about the same as the 91 AKI that we use in the states. |

do you have graphs showing the air fuel ratio with the stage 1 kit at wide open throttle, cruise and idle? thanks |

Easyrider: "I disable the lambda, because I cannot let them do what I like.."} That's a no-go for me, i don't need a race bike tune, I'm not willing to jeopardize engine health and economy. |

Xelerator, I did not know that you had a crystal ball. Are you watching me, somehow (a lot is possible these days. Don't talk about stuff, you havent seen yourself. And I don't care what you like.. I know what I do and that is enough for me. There are always people in the world with a crystal ball, I wish I had one. |

I'd be more worried about running this engine lean with a stock tune especially with the 12.3:1 compression ratio. Funny how many here want to get their hands on a "race ecu", and others seem un-willing to disable to O2 sensors and add a "good tune" on a stock ecu in fear that this will damage their engine. Easyrider, Could you explain to us some of the differences between a race ecu and a stock ecu? Maybe that would help clear up any "mis-information" being shed here... |

Therealassmikeg, In both cases you need to put the bike on the dyno. The flash in the RACE ECM is even worse then the one in the streetbike which get updated from time to time. Don't even think to put the RACE ECM in and a open exhaust and start driving. Buell was never allowed to produce a product with a richer fuel adjusting then the stock ECM because of EPA rules. There is no manual, the manufacturer made it but Buell was somehow afraid to ship it, I think EPA that they wont allow us to get too smart. The nice thing and big difference is the adjustment of all the parameters inside the Race ECM which is NOT Possible in the stock ECM. Think about all the protections a engine has on the street version which you don't need in the race circuit version. Think about overheating issues with spark retarding, when you race you don't want to let the ECM protect you too much, becuase you dynoed to bike and know what you do. And there are more little nice stuff inside the race ECM which are much easier to adjust then in the stock ECM. It's cool to have and nice to adjust bud not nessecarry on the streetbike for road use. |

Thanks Easyrider. In my question I meant stock "Twin" reprogrammed ecu. I guess the "simple" answer I was looking for was that they are both running open loop/ no oxs feedback.. Would that be correct? |

There is a manual for the race ECM that gives you everything you need to use the ECM. It doesn't however teach you how to tune. It definately leaves a lot to be desired, but the Buell PCM Tool software was meant as an engineering tool, not for consumers. The manual is on every CD that ships with a race ECM. Also, other than some comm protocols, the race ECM is identical to a stock ECM. Same hardware and same software. If you have the software to program them, a stock cal will work in a race ECM and a race cal will work in a stock ECM with no differences. Easyrider is correct in that it isn't just an easy plug and play unit. The only cals available with the race ECM from the factory are a stock cal and a DSB cal. The DSB cal was designed for the Buell Race Exhaust and Sunoco 260 GTX fuel. These cals will get you started if your configuration is close to stock or a DSB bike, but there can be so much variation from motor to motor that you will need to do some dyno work if you want the full potential. If you configuration is wildly different from either of those then you will definitely need to spend some time on the dyno before I would even consider riding it around. |

Strongbad, i tryed to use my stage1 stock ecm map data by just typing it over in the race ecm, besides different tps and rpm area's i did my best with translating all data in THE race ecm. It didn't worked at all i did it all over again that worked easyer |

The ECM's have to have the same firmware version for the maps to transfer. There have been many different firmware versions, but a stock ECM with the same firmware version of a race ECM will transfer without issue. The address locations for the calibration data is sometimes moved when firmware is changed for added features or fixes. |

When firmware changes but injectors, and the calibration software for the injectors stays the same, i have the feeling, they changed more in the race ecm |
