Is there such a thing? I never bought one for my Firebolt and now have a CR also. Considering the service intervals of the CR, i will be doing much more work on the bikes myself. Would'nt mind not having to pay for two stands. Any ideas ? | ||

I use the same 3 pad Pitbull stand on my 1125's as my XB12SS. I haven't tried it with XB-S/R swingarm though. Oh, it doesn't work on my Blast  | ||

Can you get the rear T-Rex separate from the front? It will work well enough to lift an 1125r that doesnt have swingarm spools and not let it fall? | ||

I have that pit bull froggy is posting about. F0078-000  Best Buell stand ever. I wish I had it sooner. Fits all of my XBs, Ulys and 1125s very well. Just loosen your pinch bolt on the xbs before mounting if you are going to drop the rear wheel. 1125 pinch bolt can be loosened in stand. It holds the bike well, other conventional designs could allow the bike to slide off the stand DAMHIK. Al @ American Sport Bike should have it in stock. Ask for the 2008/Uly rear pit bull. | ||

I have both the universal front and 3 pad rear Pit Bull stands for my track '08 1125. If I were buying again I would install spools on the swingarm and get the type of stand that has the fork end for the spools. The 3 pad stand slides around too much. Same thing for the universal fronts, although I got the forklift converter which completely stabilizes the front. I change my tires a lot at the track and want a more stable system. I've got the front taken care of, and this summer when I go to the chain drive swingarm I'll also be switching to the fork end type of stand. | ||

El cheapo Lockhart Phillips stand works for me on the 1125R, XB9R and S1 Lightning as the padded brackets are adjustable for different width swingarms. | ||

Mac inger and Mikezx9r, I called and spoke with them before I purchased mine, to make sure I would not have to modify anything. They were very helpful, and assured me I would not need to make any mods for this to work on my 09R, and that was correct. Maybe you should give them a call and confirm the same for your bikes. I would hate to suggest the stands will work for your bikes without knowing for sure. Troy | ||

You should be able to use the same front and rear stand for both bikes. If you get the rear stand thats made for spools you'll just have to change the width for the different swingarms (as long as both swing arms have swing arm sliders/spools) For the front stand, you'll need a #2 and #3 pin. BTW, these are for pit bull stands. | ||

The front pin for the pitbull stand measures .700" but I don't know the part # off hand. I just made mine from mild steel stock. The standard pin is .750" and is a #2 from them, I think. | ||

The XB pin will probably work on the 1125 but the pin specifically for the 1125 has a slight bend to it.  | ||

With my experience using the T-rex stands, I found the front stand worked great. The rear stand has been more of a challenge for the wide, angled swingarm. First off, I widened the lift pads by bending them outward to give more swingarm clearance. It's rather easy with the cheap Chinese metal and a large pliers. I have heard that some people are using the T-rex without modifying, but I didn't see how that was possible. When I get the swingarm centered properly, I have 1/4" to 3/8" clearance on each side of the swingarm. As we all know, the biggest issue is that bike slides back on the stand due to the swingarm angle. The left side is stopped by the belt guard boss and the right isn't really stopped at all and tends to side farther. What I end up with is a bike that is cockeyed and tilted funky on the stands. It's definitely due to the combination of the uneven hand bending of the lift pads and the uneven sliding of the swingarm. I have never had an accident, but it's enough to make me want to get the wheels back on ASAP. On my '09, the T-rex is again too narrow to use the stock spools. I haven't checked whether or not I can bend the lift fork on the stand to get it to work. |
