Tony, The BRAG types are NOT exclusive - right now, this board seems to be a convenient way to get info out to those who may not be on Candice's list. Stay in touch with all of us and don't miss the rides if you can make them. This is also a good way to setup spontaneous rides, too. We were thinking about starting a website of sorts for posting schedules, member info, newsletter(s), etc. Haven't figured that out yet. I told Tim and Candice that I'd help out. Maybe contribute and article or 2 for the newsletter... stuff like that. Please make sure you make it to this Sunday's ride up to Cal Sportbike. Cal Sportbike isn't Buell-specific but Todd is a 2-wheeled enthusiast - plus he runs Pacific Track Time... AND the food's FREE (my favorite kind) (Message edited by slaughter on May 19, 2003, %time) |

I'll take the liberty of posting Tim and Candice's BRAG ride announcement here for any who aren't on their list (their email is: 2whlnut@sbcglobal.net ) Hey Buellers, We will be meeting at Glendale Harley for our monthly ride Sunday May 25th. The last Sunday of the month falls early this month. Meet at Glendale at 9:30 and we will head up the Crest towards Wrightwood stopping at Cal Sport bike http://www.calsportbike.com for their Grand Opening with free lunch served to all Bikers who ride in. The guy who owns this shop is also one of the guys who puts on Pacific Track Time. Glendale Harley/Buell is also having a Spring Fever bash on Saturday May 31st. The Brag club will be hosting the BBQ portion of the event and the proceeds from the BBQ will go to our Brag club, so come and join the festivities and support Glendale Harley/Buell and your Local Brag group. I am asking for volunteers to help with the event. Cooking burgers and handing out chips/sodas and the exchanging of money. If you can volunteer some of your time it would be much appreciated. I have 4 volunteers so far and we will alternate the duties. Please contact me via E-mail or call us @ 661-274-1096. We would like to get 10 volunteers or so. If you would like any information on the actual event for the 31st please contact Glendale Harley/Buell and ask for Chris Matty. He can give you an idea on the other events happening that day. That's it for now. Hope to see you all for these two events. Candice and Tim Hurley "Golden State Brag Club" (Message edited by slaughter on May 19, 2003, %time) |

Anybody interested in doing another ride Monday - after Sunday's ride? Couple of folks are talking about a lunch run to Ojai. Any interest? By the way, it's a sushi lunch. And yes, rednecks eat sushi. |

Sushi? As in young wimmins? I'm in! Had a good ride yesterday after all the chores were done. Met Ernie and Don up at Newcombs. It was a nice ride up with the exception of having to ride through an accident clean up involving some squids, a turnout, and the mountain. Fortunately no one seemed seriously hurt, but the no-fun patrol was out in full force as a result. Met another toe draggin M2 rider up there who also terrorizes the mountain on his spiffy new GXSR 1000. Funny, but I had to let the guy around me - he was really quick and I don't like pushing too much on the roads anymore. I was hoping to get a chance to do a test run of Sundays ride, but ran out of time =(. Shouldn't be any problems though. All of Forest highway is spotless - fun! |

Matty, I was just thinkin that youse guys would have Monday off - may as well get in some ridin' We don't have anything set in stone yet - just figure that we got Monday off anyways so ought to set something up. Newcomb's is always a good starting point now that it's not too cold. Breakfast there and then out to where ever is next. No definite plans. Ojai isn't a definite - just the first suggestion. |

Arrgch, I was just poking through my iCal and noticed that the oceanside Buell & Aprillia dealers are supposed to be doing a track day at Willow Spring Monday. Anyone hear if they are still doing it? It may be worth popping in and saying Hello. |

Matty, They are hosting a track day - but NO demos. $180 includes continental breakfast and catered lunch. 3 groups by ability. DANG! I'd have tried hitting it if there was something to demo (Millie R, I love you) but that money thing is biting. Trying to make it to Kelly's track day on Streets this coming Friday because I can work Monday in exchange... hooo boy. Gonna be a busy month. |

Oh yeah, Timbo? Howzabout the test ride on the fire-breathing, liquid-cooled, 2-stroke, slick-tired race bike?

Hey! Who took that pic? I didn't have my camera ready when you decided to traumatize Wrightwood with the race replica. |

Todd Robinson (our Host/owner of Cal Sportbike) just e-mailed it to me a few minutes ago. He got it (I think) from Loli's trick little celphone camera thingie. Hell, I haven't ridden a liquid-cooled 2-stroke street bike in over 20 years! |

Timbo, OK now, photo credit - that was Candice took that picture. There is a whole world out there with Pocketbikes - full suspensions and speeds waaaay in excess of 60+mph! (I can't imagine it) |

Steve, Did Saro Loli and I see you cruising aroung on your Bolt yesterday about 11:30 on highway 138? Loli, Saro and I had a great ride to lunch in Big Bear yesterday. The Rim of the World was a hoot. We found a great ribs place that would be perfect for a BRAG stopping place. The BRAG ride was great too. I've never hit the rev limiter so much on the Blast! Wrightwood was cool and so were the test rides. Timbo, COOL PICS! James |

Nope, I was on the S3 around that time, but not on or near Hwy 138... wonder who that was? You are right, it WAS a great day and ride Sunday. See you soon. Steve |

I must say that Sunday indeed was a hoot! That's probably the hardest I've ridden the Dyna over any length of time. Man - I gotta get myself back on something that handles a little better. A memorable moment was when we were blasting by a ranger at obviously HIGHLY illegal speeds while he was frantically waving for us to slow down. Of course, then we stopped and waited to re-group - only to have a CHP on a BMW pass us going the other way. Good timing! It was also nice to have Ernie and Matty (and their test ride mules!) along for this one as well as Erich and his spiffy S1 from Bartel's. Oh, yeah - the folks over at CalSportbike (.com) were tres cool. Very good folks deserving of support. Looking forward to our next get together! -Saro |
