I'm not a big ride in the winter fan, but I do it on occasion. Thought this chart might be of interest. Wind Chill Chart

A similar chart was posted in the QB a few weeks ago. I have seen -20's several times in the last month, tons of fun! ![: D](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/biggrin2.gif) |

As a former Minnesotan now living in Montana (moved here to get warm), I'd say your post is quite accurate. |

Ok, so lets say that the wind chill chart is accurate. If it is 40 degrees out with no wind and I climb on my bike. I accelerate to a measly 60 mph, it would then feel like 25 degrees. Then as I approach 100 mph it would feel like approximately 20 degrees. As I crest the hill the wind is blowing at 20 mph, it then feels like 18 degrees. I guess I need warmer gear at this point huh? |

It was 5 degrees when my brother and I left Tonopah NV one morning a couple Januarys ago. Now I know why I was so friggin cold even with gear.
![Tonopah 2007 5 degrees](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/526724.jpg) By the time we got to Beatty it had warmed up to the 20's.
![Tonopah 2007 Beatty NV](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/526725.jpg) Death Valley in January is fantastic.
![Tonopah 2007 Stovepipe Wells](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/526726.jpg) Winter riding is a blast if you don't have to live in it I guess. |
