Guess I should post this, no pics yet but they will follow. Purchased a new 07 STT yesterday, it had 140 miles on it. Great bike but sure was a cold 80 mile ride home last night. It is keeping my Uly company in the garage. I picked it up at Thunder Tower HD in SC. The dealership and staff were great, so kudo's are in order. |

I would go to the Buell owners site and look up the owners manual. I have TT and I know its a different set up than my Uly. I'm at work so I can't go to the garage to have a look see..... sorry. |

Oh, so you're the dude who nabbed that? I was interested in that bike, seemed like a REALLY good deal - but the 800+ mile trip to get it kept me from jumping on it. Curt called me apologetically that it was gone. Anyway, I'm interested in how different you find it from your Uly. Nice score, in any case! |

Thanks Swamp. Chuck said he had a interested buyer up north. Have only rode it about 120 miles but so far seems to be a great bike. Definitely not as much seat to peg distance as the Uly though. Also I am still running the 06 ECM in the Uly, the 07 ECM in the STT seems to be a lot smoother. |

I thought the seat height would have felt lower.... but it feels about the same as my Uly. I hated the handle bars. They felt pretty narrow compared to the Uly. I just put a set of MSR high ATV bars on mine. I also put a used a top clamp under the bars to raise them up a little bit more. Uly cables and brake line were needed for the extra length. I think I would like to put the XB9 primary drive in it. The TT just doesn't wheelie as easy as the Uly. I would also like a seat like the Scg seat, but I just can't see spending the $$ |

I was also considering the same bike, but couldn't come up with the time to get down there from Ohio. Congrats you got a great deal. I found another closer to me for just a little more money. Would this make a good daily commuter for someone with a shorter inseam? |

Would this make a good daily commuter for someone with a shorter inseam? Well, I never sat on a TT but I think from the specs it's pretty similar to a XB9 CityX. My local dealer has one of those and it was pretty comfy for me (I'm about 6') but depending on how inseam challenged you are, I don't know - it isn't short. The other Buell they have is a XB12Scg, which seemed really low in comparison, a bit on the snug side for me. |

I think it will make a great commuter. I have a 32 in inseam and easily touch the ground. Not a lot of area to carry anything on it though but I am still looking into that part. I want to run her up to the Dragon this spring and see how she does. |

I want to run her up to the Dragon this spring and see how she does. According to EB, it was the best handling bike they had made when it came out. |

Tiptoe my 1125R and all other sport bikes I've owned, so I am used to not fully reaching the ground. I like the SCG, but I am not sure on the clearance and travel issues others have mentioned. Thanks for the info! |

My 06 Uly had a small list of fixes to correct known issues, the cable holder on the front of the engine, the cable holder on the steering arm, and bearings. Does the TT have any known issues as well that can be fixed in advance? |

Same list, except it comes with the steering arm harness protector factory installed. The STT is just a Uly for midgets. |

The TT is in between a Uly & a SS in height. Well at least my 08 is. |

I like the SCG, but I am not sure on the clearance and travel issues others have mentioned. Well, I'm not sure about that either, but I will say it is a cool looking scoot! The one my local dealer has is a 2010, Sept 09 build. Pretty near the end... |

It is kind of interesting - does seem like there are a reasonable number of these "new" 2007 STT's still out there (5 in Ohio alone). If you pay much attention to the "find a bike" on buell.com, there's not any 07's of anything other than the STT. Given there weren't that many built - I guess these must not have been one of their more popular models. And I'm told the HD 3k rebates don't apply to these either - they're too old! The dealers who let them go cheap are just sick of having them around, I gather... |

The STT is just FUGLY! Have you seen one with a orange air box on it? It wasn't long after it came out that Buell offered a "kit" for them. This kit had rear passenger pegs, different color plastics and a new 2 up seat. Once they had it installed they would move off the showroom floor a little faster. |

The STT is just FUGLY! Have you seen one with a orange air box on it? I'm not crazy about the number plates but once those are off I think they look pretty sweet. Of course, this coming from an owner of an 1125CR (which I also think looks pretty sweet)... |

I picked up an 07 STT back in Oct of 08; it's my first Buell. I too thought the thing was just awfully ugly when it came out. I was shopping for a S or an Scg and every time I walked into a shop with an Stt, I ended up spending more time checking it out than the others. Like Wolfridge says above, I walked into one shop and they had converted it to a Ss looking bike with cherry bomb & black fender & rear pegs. That look pretty much sold me, but that's not the one I bought. I ended up getting an all white one and I ran it like that for quite a while. Andded some snumber to fill out the numberplates because they were just too much white space. Then I picked up a set of cherry bomb stuff for it, that's the way it sits now with hand guards & light guard. I think of it kinda like a 1200 city cross. I have both the stock Stt seat and the standard Ss seat. I use them both. Generally I keep the Stt seat on for around town and close riding. If I'm going farther, I'll put on the Ss seat. Just gives you a little more room to move around. As far as riding the thing, I love it both around town and longer day trips. It handles unbelievably. Now, I realize that my frame of reference is all non-Buell, but I'm impressed. The added suspension gives the bike a nice height that not only keeps your muffler off of speed bumps, but lets you lean it WAY over. I did do the clutch cable bracket change preemptively as well as a Spec-Op pipe. Hemicbx York, PA |

Looks good Hemi. My only suggestion is to get a comfort kit while you can. Do you still have the stock handle bar on there. If not would you want to sell it. Bob |

Hemicbx, Looks nice, that is the direction I want to go if I buy one, flat black though, and leave the high front fender. Swamp2, There is another white one in Ohio with only 350 miles that is not listed on the Buell Site, must be used or a Demo without a warranty. If I can get one priced as Kurbennett did, I will buy, if not, the newer "08-10" SS's and SCG's with the updates seem more sensible, when the price is the same or usually much less. |

Ouch Wolf! I like the orange one. Even thinking I might get an orange flyscreen to go with it. Not sure about the number plates though. But was thinking getting the new Buell emblem painted on it. |

I would like the orange one too if all the body work was orange..... LOL I have had black plastics on mine and then went back to the white. I will probably order a white front fender and chin fairing. I also put the number plates back on it with the intent of covering them in black stickers. |

Pos, I already picked up the comfort kit parts that fit (RSS & pipe guard). Did you put the comfort kit on yours? Still have stock bars on it, but I keep thinking I need a set like you have, we'll see. Wolf, I also plan to get the white fender & chin parts. Tried to order them at a local dealer's black Friday sale last month but they had a "no painted parts on sale" policy. I argued that they weren't painted but molded in color; no dice. Hemi |

Hemi, I put the full kit both of my bikes. The underseat piece just needs a little trimming to fit on the Ss. I asked about the bar for on my Uly as it bolts right up and can still retain the hand guards. Bob |

So, I've done some researching on the differences between the '07 and later models. Can anybody in the know comment on the real world significance of the changes? I've been thinking a lot about getting an STT - but any left out there are pretty much all '07's. I don't know if I should care or not... |

New Timing System 24.Thunderstorm V-twin engine Thunderstorm V-twin engine The timer cover is eliminated, as the engine is now crank timed from a new crank position sensor, which eliminates the need for manual timing, reducing maintenance costs. The ECM actively monitors and adjusts timing based on driving environment. The new sensor makes 30 reads per revolution, compared to the previous two reads per revolution, for more precise control of fuel mapping and timing to conditions. More Robust Crankpins The size of the crankpins is increased to 1.50 inches from 1.25 inches. Oiling System Upgraded A higher-output oil pump supports oiling to the new crankpin area. The new pump is driven off of the crank, a design based on the Buell XBRR production racing motorcycle. A new eight-row oil cooler offers enhanced cooling performance. All oil line ends are now equipped with Jiffy-tite fittings. New DDFI 3 ECM (Engine Control Module) A new ECM with increased computing capacity. DDFI 3 actively controls and monitors the TPS (throttle position sensor), IAC (idle air control), and timing. DDFI 3 automatically zeros the TPS and adjusts fuel metering for smoother idle, eliminating service intervals and reducing the cost of ownership. A new progressive throttle cam and new throttle cables provide smoother throttle input from stops, and less rotation to full throttle.
