It was FREEZING in the morning... low 40's... A friend of mine (on the FZ6 in the video) and I almost turned around after riding for a while, but then the sun came out and it became bearable. Few minutes of the awesome Montezuma road: YouTube - Montezuma Ride 12/26/09 and a few pics showing the camera setup (1 in front and 1 in rear):

Thanks guys Music is an extract from a Ministry of Sound mix... I thought youtube wouldn't catch that and they didn't... Here is the whole loop we did that day (including Palomar, but no battery by then), with the detail of Montezuma Valley road that was in the video... twisties keeps going for a few miles after the video stop, but we hit traffic. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=8615+Hemlock+Way,+Buena+Park,+CA+90620&daddr=Newport+Rd+toomenigoni+Pkwy+to:CA-371+W/Cahuilla+Rd+to:Co+Rd+S22/Montezuma+Valley+Rd+to:E+Grade+Rd+to:8615+Hemlock+Way,+Buena+Park,+CA+90620&geocode=FcRpBAIdzrj3-Cltm2k2fSndgDHICaCkNWIh_w;FRX-AQIdLj0D-Q;FS5EAgIdQigH-Q;FVvt_gEd5jcJ-Q;FXZt-wEd1OIP-Q;FfJQ_AEdgscI-Q;FcRpBAIdzrj3-Cltm2k2fSndgDHICaCkNWIh_w&hl=en&mra=ls&via=1,3,5&sll=33.520789,-116.916504&sspn=1.772254,4.22699&ie=UTF8&layer=c&cbll=33.239189,-116.403128&panoid=JLP8TuuJeEkJm0vP89fpqQ&cbp=11,0,,0,5&ll=33.236965,-116.458168&spn=0.086435,0.363579&z=12 (Message edited by wavex on December 28, 2009) |

Nice pics. Why did you remove the belt guard? |

Why did you remove the belt guard? Because it looks way better. 26K on mine without guards. Still the original belt. Beautiful bike Wave. |

I was not far from you on the 25th and 26th. I was at family's in Palm Desert. Check out my rental car from the Ontario Airport. Everyone needs one of these. By the way, that Buell really looks good.

i'd punch a sick baby in the face to go ride warm twisties right now. though some of them are probably covered in snow, the roads into and out of big bear are awesome. (you locals probably know this) if i was going to joshua tree, i'd be stopping at the little thai place in the strip mall on the 62 in the town of jt. yummy-in-my-tummy. enjoy. |

People say we are nuts out here in California but at least we get to ride all year round By the way, we have a different idea as to what freezing is. I know it's totally different than what the rest of the country thinks but to us it's cold. (Message edited by scarecrow on December 30, 2009) |

It isn't illegal to ride in NY year round either I need to get the pic off my phone I took the other day, my CR was covered in snow. |

Tried them this morning and my hands were double toasty (yeah we have great weather here today)... |

We use the 50-50 rule here in Alabama. 50 degrees and 50% chance of rain. good to ride. LOL.. |

Heated grips are really nice. I have them (not this brand) on my touring bike. Even in California it can get a little chilly (to us LOL). |

Because I won't need them for 11 months/year... |

Need? No. Want? Yes. They're nice to have year round. Even here in San Diego it gets pretty chilly in the morning and evening during all but the hottest days of Summer. Even when it is warm out, the heat from mine on the low setting relaxes my hands even if they aren't cold. |

I use mine year round in NY. They are fantastic in the rain for when your hands get soaked because apparently waterproof gloves is an oxymoron. |

Sounds good... to each their own. I personally don't need/want them when my hands aren't cold (else I get sweaty hands), which is 10-11 months per year, so I'll remove mine if you don't mind |
