If you plan on camping during homecoming, post up here and let us know. This will allow all who are interested to stay together at the campground! |

Thanks Ulywife. This is the deal... Jason and I are reserving two group campsites at Mukwanago County Park... after January 1st as they have indicated to me we can reserve for June 15th through the 20th... This park is approximately 9 miles northeast of East Troy, Wisconsin and is approximately 11 miles northeast of Alpine Valley Resort/ The Host Hotel. I don't know the cost yet and the maximum capacity at each site... but I will call after the new year and get more information... I will deal with keeping the list of people, and the park rangers will be collecting money from people when they arrive at the site, no money is required in advance... No electric is provided at this campsite, but Country View should have hookups... Jason is also going to coordinate some kind of food and cooking arrangement since he lives nearby... I have a few backup plans if it rains, and I suggest you might want to have a backup plan as well... We have on occasion gotten hail storms and severe thunderstorms in June in Wisconsin so anything can happen... Ian we got you covered for a backup if you need it... I will post more later when I get in touch with the park... (Message edited by Whatever on January 08, 2010) |

I know there are also a couple of campgrounds in the State Forest and I will post links for those... State Forest campgrounds tend to be more rustic and they are located 25 to 35 miles away. (Message edited by Whatever on January 08, 2010) |

OK, for now I've opened two folders up top for Mukwonago and Country View Campgrounds. I can move all these postings to the related folder and then we can close this message page down and only list the links for local campgrounds. Just let me know what works. |

Any 'Gathering Size Limits' in the state forest areas? Might be something to consider--MN doesn't allow too many people to congregate without reserving all or most of a camping area, and occasionally permits are required. That said, I'm a fan of Country View. I'll likely be pulling a camper for this year, and the folks at CV have great setups plus they are locals and really friendly to work with. |

If you have an RV, then Country View is a good option. We are going to limit our camping at the County Park to 40 peeps also... more than that would get too cumbersome to handle. (Message edited by Whatever on January 08, 2010) |

As far as limits to campsites in the State Forest, please click on the link above and call the DNR... probably have more luck after New Years tho... |

I am toying with the idea of having my wife bring the Pop-up down. I would like a site with hook-ups if possible but not necessary. Could you post prices please or I could not be so lazy and just click the freaking link too. Thanks for your work on putting the camping section together!! |

Thanks! I gave my knitted Buell winter hat to one of my grand kids. It sure wouldn't fit me! Kinda like Howie Mandel with the rubber glove on his head! |

OK, I'm in! I just emailed Rocco and asked him to hold one of the last tickets to the banquet for me. Char, I'll be convoying up with Vern and whomever else from E. TN, camping with the kewl kids... Of course, the future into June can't be predicted, but it's worth $35 now to ensure a seat at the table. (I imagine that in the event that I couldn't go I could easily unload a dinner ticket...) Thanks for your work in this- heck, it's January, gotta do a motor transplant with the XB soon, but I'm stoked to be thinking about it!! Yeehaaa!! |
