Buell 'noob here, but not exactly a motor 'noob.

We used to call them "speed shops". Place to get performance work done on your ride by a tuner that knows what he's doing.

Got a '09 CR and looking for a good shop to do the usual engine and suspension performance modifications. I'm located in North Texas but willing to transport the motor as far as CA to get good work.

Not looking for a world-beater, just competent work on a piece of Street Iron.

Who are the go-to "good guys"?

Not sure what would be "street legal".

Bood,

Around here, the two suspension guys of note are Cliff Piper at Piper Performance and Jim Cambora or Raceworx.

I'd give both a big thumbs up... it mostly just depends on if you want RaceTech or Traxxion components.

Piper has done three of my bikes, including 2 1125r machines. He also has a dyno, but I don't know if he's done any 1125r tuning yet.

I've not had Jim do any work for me yet, but he's top notch and comes with recommendation after recommendation from the local racers for both suspension and motor work.

That should get you started.

Thanks for the assistance. I've heard good things about Piper but haven't heard about Raceworks (are they located on FW?).

I'll give both a visit.

Take delivery next week and need to start a list of upgrades to get done before spring riding season.

Dentguy, after looking at ErikBuellRacing I sent them a preliminary message requesting additional info. Having the "factory" guys do the work sounds very interesting. I really like this idea.
