Dave...you know how to hurt a guy! My wife didn't complain about the new 1125R...but man would I also like to get my hands on a 2010 Uly...should I push it? |

I am not the guy you should be asking. You want marriage counseling, see a minister. Ask a sales guy if you should buy another motorcycle... now where is that trigger again? In the middle of a house refi I let my wife know I was buying what I thought was the only 2010 Uly to be shipped to Colorado. As soon as it hit the dealership, it had a "SOLD" sign on it, Canary Yellow. We can't get a car in the 3-car garage before this acquisition. 2007 Barricade Orange Uly named Joules, 2010 Canary Yellow named ________ ? ~jammer (Message edited by jammin_Joules on December 20, 2009) |

I am leaning towards "Pistol" since I can hear the detractors now; "why is that piss-yellow bike whirring when you shut it off?" |

The good news is with the new comfort kit, it whirs less (but still rides great). Wayne |

I got a call from my dealer on Tuesday - they got my 2010 XT in. A red one. I hope to get it delivered in a covered trailer next week (Wisconsin salt can do bad bad things to a bike). I want to keep this one for a long time. I'll see y'all at the Buell Homecoming next summer. |

Maximum, I think it is high time for you to pass that 06' on to Sean and you buy that 2010. Can't let my son Sage outdo your son now. A Blast was OK but the ULY is a whole different animal. My boy has become a ULY freak with his 07'. Spends more time reading BadWeb, and Adventure Rider than me. Chip off the old block. Anyways, no riding here in Nebraska because we've got about 1.5 or more feet of snow on the ground. Personally I think we will be snowed in until March this year but hope I'm wrong.

Hey EG: I've been thinking hard about that 2010...it would be an easier sell if I didn't pick up an 1125R in November. But that whole Sean angle might be the ticket! Dave...I might have to come in this week to talk to you. |

I'll be taking my father to the airport to return him to Michigan on Monday. No telling how long that will take since that arse from Nigeria tried to burn a flying plane in Detroit. He is 86 and has poor vision so I get a gate pass to take him to the plane and wait until they board in case of a gate change. So I will be in the shop Tuesday thru Sat skipping Friday, of course. |

Since there isn't but a purported 23 U.S. 2010 ULY X's, how well sorted out is the tuning on them. I haven't read one bad thing about them here, but that is probably cause they might as well not exist. Kinda like Ivory Bill Woodpeckers. |

" ...how well sorted out is the tuning on them. I haven't read one bad thing about them here, but that is probably cause they might as well not exist... I'll let you know. I haven't seen a morning above 15 degrees in over a week here, and 8 inches of white stupid stuff is still laying about. But I can offer you this, we have done a few latest downloads on some XB12's that had run issues and, whether its due to having the cloak of the EPA lifted from a defunct company or that they finally figured some things out, it is a super set up. Also, with the comfort kit, and the dual oxygen sensors in the headers, they have finer control of the whole combustion process where before they had limitations that they were forced to over come with algorithms. It is not that they were not capable or lacked the knowledge. Our Pikes Peak race bikes got race-only ECMs that took in to account elevation changes (race is from 9,000 to 14,000 feet in 10 minutes at full throttle most of the way) through a barometric pressure input and it worked fantastic. Very limited application but they nailed it. Finally, when I thanked Erik for snagging me a 2010 Uly and that I would be letting my 2007 go, one of is comments made it obvious: "you'll like how it performs". ~jammer |

I will have some good references. Stock Ulys & Lightnings, and we have a 2007 Lightning with a Jardine pipe we tuned, and my 2007 Uly, Joules, got a Buell Pro-pipe and dyno tune (Direct Link). Plus on the couple used XBs we have, we plan on seeing what effect the new download has on them, before & after. Of course we need ambient of 45degrees for a couple hours to get the dyno up and operating and quite a back log of engine builds to tune first. Regardles, Direct Link finally admitted difficulty and won't support 2008 & newer XBs so options are limited. ~jammer |

What do you mean by "only 23 made" exactly? Does this refer to the X, XT or both? I have a; 2010 all black XT and I was not aware of it being that rare. (Message edited by Ulyssesmatt on December 28, 2009) |

I really want a 2010 now after hearing about the second 02 sensor and how good the new EFI mapping is. I’m picking up a new 2009 XB12X on Thursday….. |

"I made my 09 into a 2010 ... " I can see the comfort kit install, the new blinkers too, but how did you get a new header pipe and a new ECM? |

I was wondering if there is an option to do the 2010 header and ECM upgrade? Perhaps the better question would be, "do we have any data yet on what is the gain of the second o2 sensor and ecm"? Better fuel economy? |

Cp, how are you going to wire it in? new harness? |
Froggy

To do the upgrade, you at a minimum would need a new wiring harness, new header, another O2 sensor, and possibly a new ECM, as the ECM contains your VIN number and Odo reading, so you would have to get a new ECM and fool the Digital Technician to program it with a 2010 VIN so it would download the different programming. It may be hackable on the ECM you currently have, but I am not aware of any program that can do it. You always could get a Race ECM. |

My plan is to ride the living hell out of my 2008 . . . I have yet to find any reason not to just ride it and have fun.
