Fresno, 4000 miles is nothing on Amsoil. But don't take my word for it. Why not send in a sample after your next oil change? It only costs about $30 for a complete analysis including TBN which will tell you a lot about the condition of your oil and your engine. Then you can make a truly informed decision on how you want to handle your oil changes. Www.blackstone-labs.com |

Fresno, The manual recommends a 20W or 10W. So, the 15W is a nice compromise. The diesel oils are good for wet clutches due to their higher phosphorus content. But, if you want to drink the Kool-aid and buy that Harley stuff, have at it. Suzuki recommends 10W-40. However, the Shell Rotella is a 5W-40 synthetic. However, it's operating range fits well within the 10W-40 parameters. That's what I care about. |

Yes Fresno, I run Diesel oil in the winter on my XB's and Blast due to needing to start in 10°F weather. The manual has all the specs on what weights and letter grades to use. I am currently running a Mobile 1 diesel, I forget the exact weight, I think its 10w-40. (Message edited by froggy on December 25, 2009) |

I just put 3 qts of Red Line 10w-40 into Loretta last week. It's supposed to get up to 40 in a few days, I wanna ride. Neighborhood roads are snow-packed, highways are dry. Z |
