How does that Vegas aspect work out then? Travel, accomodations, bike shipping, number/wife/partner/kids included? Just curious. Being that it appears to be on a Wednesday I'm thinking someone could take a week off work, ride to Vegas, then ride back after the event.?. Congratulations to the winners and everyone else as well. What does the first one to put a Buell into the Bellagio pool win? Eh? I can see it now, wheelies and burnouts under the old town light show. |

As I understand it, they will fly the winner out there. Not the bike The finalists will all be on identical bikes, they don't know yet if they will be Firebolts or Lightnings.

MikeJ I sure do remember the ringer that showed up late last year . .. I also remember suggesting that we take him out back and break his thumbs (grin) I'll not be Battlemastering this year -- I'm tempted to make some wise-a$$ comment about "artistic differences" or sumpin, but the long and the short of it is that it just didn't work out. Reg has a great thing goin w/B'Trax, and I'm disappointed I'll not be able to work with him and the riders in the Milwaukee area . . . . for me, the up side is I'll get to ride B'trax, instead of put everyone to sleep with my commentary (bigger grin) . . . .goodness knows I'm no threat to anyone's time, but it's a stone gas of a time, and I'm lookin forward to makin as many rounds as I can copngrats to all those who chose to compete . .. it's a great experience |

How'd Michigan go this weekend? Pics? Bomber, Sorry to hear that, but glad to hear you'll be riding. Besides, a throttle is more fun to twist than a microphone. (Sounds like there may be more to the story, having been through a few "artistic differences" episodes myself.) |

Mike . . .. no artistic differences this time . .. like I said, that woulda been a smart-a$$ answer . . .the long and the short of it is that it just didn't work out . . ..Reg has a great program going, and I'm sure averyone will have a gas Dyna . . . .. couldn't tell ya, bud . . . sometime the web lags behind reality abit |

And here I was getting all ready to hear about how Reg wouldn't allow you to include jumps, a required burnout to start, and a required stoppie to stop. Ah well. Guess I'll have to go sharpen the corners of my tires to get ready for June. I think that if I put the bike up on the stand, then run the engine and drag a file so it looks like I'm riding clear over to the rims I might scare a few people off. Then ifn's I scrape up the corners of the mirrors and get me a couple of those kneepads for the elbows of my jacket I should look really spooky. I thought about adding kneepucks to the sides of my helmet, but then visions of Princess Leia came to mind and I decided that wouldn't be such a good idea. "You, Mr. Kneepuck, get back between the cones and keep it there mister." |

Mike, Went pretty good Sat I got the second best time Was a sec or so behind number one But I had a wedding to go to so I was pretty happy with the number two spot. Sun was the finals for the Vegas trip. The times were verrrrrry tight just to give you an Idea I was in 11th with .046 off my target time the leader was .006 off her time. I forget the winners name but he was riding a 9R he is a local guy. I will see about getting some pics posted. as a side note the number one time from Sat (Don) came in 12th and I the number two time from sat came in 11th OHHHH the irony All In all it was a Blast as always. |

So are people running the practice laps to get a base point, then backing off a hair for the target-times laps? How close are the best-times in the practice laps to the qualifiers? Just curious how this is all playing out, comparatively speaking. |

Well it went like this Mike, Sat was kinda like practice day, get to know the track TToD type stuff for braggin rights. Sun was the national chap run. What you did was all morning try and run a steady lap time IE 44.64 then you got four laps to average your target time. so say I picked 44.64 as my target and then ran 4 laps at 43.50 45.25 44.30 44.46 my average is 44.377 the my diff from target time woud be 0.263 and so on and so on versus the others. like I said competition was super tight Sun. It was a great time, glad I could be a part of it. |

The only sore looser I've ever seen at a B-Trax event was last year when a guy laid down his bike (Softtail or FXR Harley). The guy was fine, having a great time, and didn't seem to mind the damage. His wife/girlfriend/ladyfriend was the one who wasn't so happy. I'm thinking he was seeing new shiney parts, she was seeing the dollars going out the window. Oh well, any crash you can walk or ride away from is always better than it could have been. Glad everything went well for you guys overthere. |
