I don't know if its on RRW's website. I was at Barnes & Noble tonight and picked up the latest issue. I'll try and scan in the pics when I get home. |

At first, I thought that bike was a 1098. It's got similar good looks. If the 1125R looked that good, I would have bought one a lot sooner. |

I do like the 1098's looks, but one of the reasons I bought the 1125R was its uniqueness. I appreciate how a Buell is easily distinguishable from everything else on the road; though I'm sure the 'Cuda is one hell of a bike. |

I've had a lot of people ask if my bike was some kind of Ducati, even though "Buell" is layed across the tank A lot of people still don't know what a Buell is, and when I ride the X1 and pull up at lights, people always looked confused like they were expecting a Harley |

Jrfitzy, I bought the Buell because of its performance and because it was stupidly cheap. It's replacing my '03 SV1000S which is a really good looking bike in my opinion. It's just not as quick and doesn't handle quite as well. It's surprisingly close though. http://www.thefleshrocket.com/images/bike/sv/1000_ mostly_done/DSC06033_resize.JPG The main reasons why I didn't buy an 1125R after I test rode one back in '08 was because didn't "feel" like a $12K bike, and I was turned off by the looks in person. But for less than half that money, I'll look past the looks (literally) and enjoy the feeling from the saddle. Now if the 1125R was most of the way as good looking as the 1098--the kind of bike that made me shivery looking at it--I would have been a lot more likely to spend the money on it back in the day. Speaking of good looking bikes, I think my Daytona 675 is B E A yooutiful. http://www.thefleshrocket.com/images/bike/675/DSC0 6031_resize.JPG (Message edited by thefleshrocket on December 23, 2009) |

"stupidly cheap" is also a good reason. The rebate deals were impossible to beat. Maybe it's foolish, but I've always admired the idea of one man creating a machine he thought was perfect (ex. Ferruccio Lamborghini, Enzo Ferrari, and even Erik Buell)and just running with it. It's the innovations from these brilliant people which cause changes in the whole industry. The fact that Buell is American made it that much more appealing to me, and the new Rotax made the bike necessary for my collection. Sorry for taking this thread off topic. |
