the cables are about 4 inches longer or so... i sold one of my CR's to a guy at work. I had the clubmans then switched to highbars and he wanted the clubmans back. I remember looking at the cables and they were longer so I just changed them out again. |

In theory the longer cables/hoses will work, but you're going to have extra hanging out every where. Come to think of it I'm not sure if the tall bar throttle cables would work with the clubmans they have the angle comming out of the twist grip |

If you switch the cables, you could sell the high bars...They would be hard to sell without the cables included. |

I recommend you swap the cables. We did a test fit with the high cables on the clubman bars when switching my bike, and it looked like it might work, but I wouldn't recommend it due to the different angles on the fittings. You will have no trouble selling the high bar kit, there is a demand for it. Glad to see someone else saw the light and is switching back to clubmans |

Froggy; I picked up my CR, while I was there they had a CR with the hi bars that was sold, I asked the salesman if I could sit on it, yeah there was some difference but not enough for me to justify switching. Personally I think I can live with the clubmans. As he pointed out to me there is a little room to move the clubmans upward a bit...is that so? At any rate, I can always switch bars in future but I prefer my bikes as close to stock as possible so the clubmans will prolly stay. I also sat on an R model, they are much different! Too much like a crotch rocket to suit me! The CR was the only logical choice for me in the end I wound up with the bike i wanted at a good price, can't ask for more than that! |

That's funny - I took a demo ride on an R and found the CR w/ the clubman's to be very similar. I lived with 'em for 300 miles and that's enough for me to know I can't handle them. Although the change in the bars may not seem like a lot, subtle differences in riding position can make a huge difference. |

The R and CR with clubmans are the exact same ergonomically. It only looks like the clubmans are farther forward. I got both in my garage. You can loosen the clamp on the CR and adjust the bar up or down as needed a few degrees. |

Has anybody thought about something in between the clubmans and the high bars. For me the clubmans were too low and the high bar is too high , something like a drag bar would be almost perfect, if there is such a thing? Rick |

Personally, I was a little disappointed that the "high" bars weren't a bit higher when I got them. There was an xb9sx on the floor when I got my CR, and I was hoping the bars would be more like those. I think they'll be ok for me as is but trying to go mid way between them and the clubmans seems to be like splitting hairs... |

I am thinking about going back to clubmanns as they are more fun in the twisties but the high bars are quite comfy so we will see |

I tried to rotate the clubmans up in the clamps, but there isn't much room. Things start to interfere with each other quick. I also rotated the mirrors forward to get better adjustment, but there isn't much room there, either. The clubmans will soon be gone, the mirrors are already gone. Pics of the result when finished. |
