Andy replied back to my notes when I ordered and he is hoping to get the parts back from the anodizer late this week and they should be shipping next week. I still can't wait to get this part and glad Andy decided to make it. |

i finally finished making my own. looks like poop compared to this one. i still had fun doing it, but not enough fun to make a production run of them. -so i am not gonna take any potential sales away from prec. eng. or any of our sponsors- i'm just saying that if i had to do it again i would spend the extra $ and save my self the hassle. |

I don't know about that, Pre-Eng's shifter doesn't look like a penis, so there might be a market for yours! |

Much easier to push down to progress to the next gear when dragging a knee. |

i switched cuz i kept missing 2nd on my 9. it helped, and i got used to it. it is seldom that i have benefited from being able to upshift in a lean. it was too much of a conscious effort to shift if i wanted to ride my other bike after a week on the other one. |

I run the standard shifter on my race bike and never really had an issue with shifting. Then again, I personally don't think it's a good idea to grab another gear at full lean. Even at Road America in the carousel I never shift until I down shift for the next left hander. But as usual, a very nice piece from P.E. I've purchased from them in the past and have always been impressed with their work. |

Well I finally got my kit in today and I'm very impressed with the quality of it. I can't wait to get it mounted up. I recommend this to anyone looking for a GP kit. Not only because its the only one available but the quality is top notch. I couldn't be happier! |

Let me start buy saying Thanks to Andy and Precision Engineering. I had a tiny issue and it was taken care of without question The GP kit is incredible and with the shift rod it shifts into gear easier than the stock piece. Now all I need is to somehow hook up a quickshifter. Any ideas? |

It makes putting your kickstand down a magic trick with race boots on. |

Kick stands have always been tough to put down with race boots on. At least mine with the steel angled heel. Vos, For a quick shifter the only way I can see it working is to cut down the shift rod, drill and tap it with new threads. Then work the quick shifter on it and adjust it to the proper length. Measure twice and cut once. Let me know how it works out and what shifter you go with. These things are a must have for the track but I think on the road it'll just get me into trouble |

Well this is for the street since I am picking up my Triumph 675 race bike on Friday I want the quickshifter so it's easier on me and the lady when riding 2 up. I heard you can use a dyno jet sensor and wire it in. |

I know the Buell's are different than the jap bikes. On the jap bikes you just need to plug in a power commander and enable the quickshifter software, then set the kill time. You can wire the quick shifter with out the power commander but it has to be a company other than dyno jet. I don't think dyno jet makes a power commander for any Buells. There are a few other companys that make qs's out there but I'm not sure who makes them. I'm also not sure how you can adjust the timing and how they are wired. I know Harley-Davidson of Frederick, MD knows a lot about the Buells and they could probably help you out. I've seen their ad on this site so they must be a sponsor. |

^That's good to know They're very easy to install and I'm sure the tuners like them a little more since its becoming the standard. |

anyone have a picture of the GP mounted to the bike. I bought one and am ready to install it and cut the black plastic tie holding the bearing in place and inserted the bolt. The bearing and the bolt slides right off the shifter (black anodized part). Looks like I'm missing a shim or something to hold the shifter in place. |

I made my own GP shift kit. Took forever, and looking back on it, I would have probably been better off just buying one from Buell or PreEng. That said, it was a fun project, and I got something that's uniquely mine. Pictured is the prototype. I built a "final" that didn't have the machining mistakes and experiments. It's not perfect, but not bad for just a drill press, bandsaw, and a block of billet. The hardest part was actually the toe piece. I put an angle grinder in a cross-slide vice and put the raw stock in the chuck of the drill press and made a makeshift lathe...
