I'm trying to use this calculator to figure the speed in each gear, but I don't know what the final drive ration should be.

http://www.gearingcommander.com/

It wants final drive ration front/rear?

It is listed on Buell.com, 2.815:1

Also, use this premade calculator

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/Buell_gearing-421366.xls

Only issue is the tire size it comes with is way to large, set it to 24.4

That doesn't seem to be working right. i put in a speed and only get a 1 for rpm in 1st and 2nd, zero for the other gears.

I saw 2.8 listed as secondary drive, but inputing that in the other website gave unrealistic speeds.

It is working fine for me (Office 2007). Only change the numbers in the yellow boxes.

Out of boredom I modified it and added the XB bikes.

I got it working. Had to download it again because some of the numbers weren't right the first time.

Froggy, that pre-made calculator is cool - Thanks for sharing. Curious why it would have had a much higher tire size number than the 24.4 you mentioned. Your value looked accurate against what I've seen in my own riding ...

Download that second link and see, I saved it with the settings at redline. Incase if you don't have Excel or Excel Viewer installed:

1125R,Gear,1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,
Engine speed (rpm),10500,Speed (mph),66.1,93.0,117.9,138.6,156.2,169.5,

1125CR,Gear,1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,
Engine speed (rpm),10500,Speed (mph),60.9,85.7,108.6,127.7,143.9,156.2,

No clue how he came up with that number. I installed a race computer with speed sensor on my XB about a year and a half ago. To program it I needed the tire size, so I used a dab of whiteout on the wheel, then rolled it in my driveway, and got roughly 76.6" inches for one full revolution. It was on a Pirelli Scorpion Sync tire with who knows what wear and tire pressure, but whatever it was close enough for my intents.

Sorry about the 26" tire diameter. I was at work when I made the calculator (!) so I had to use google to find out what the typical diameter would be. Can you believe that something on the internet was not correct?

Ron, something on the internet wasn't 100% true?! You've ruined my faith Sir ... I'll still call you a friend since we're both Buell guys, but please don't let it happen again ; )
