Denoided the CR today. Used the tutorial posted by puzzled on August 22nd. Piece of cake...thanks puzz. I also cut the bracket, but had to leave it loose until i could insert the rear torx bolt on the airbox cover. Once i got the rear bolt started, i tightened the torx holding the bracket. |

Why does everyone cut the bracket? Not that it really matters. I just removed the solenoid from the bracket and left it intact. |

I cut the long end(where the cable was attached)off because it looked flimsy and might vibrate. |

There are tutorials in the archives. Search for "noid". It is a two-part process. Disconnect the solenoid - and Wire/zip-tie the throttle plates together. Both are steps to defeat EPA noise rules. Federal stuff Both are necessary to making your 1125 run smooth at low speeds. By doing both steps, you reduce throttle force and equalize/stabilize the throttle butterflies. With two 60+mm throttle-bodies that's significant. Zack |

yeah, mine surges at around 3000 to 4000 rpm. really annoying. haven't had the 600 mi. checkup so i'm pretty sure i'm still running the older flash. will the new flash fix this or should i remove the solenoid also to fix this. i'll wait till after the 600 service anyway. thanks in advance. |

I'm just going to say that I've never had the noid kick in in the 1000 miles I've owned the bike. granted this might not seem like a lot but on Guam it's a hefty distance for a month. So I figured I might as well leave it on since it's never once reared it's head, not even today when I tried WOT at 1k, 2k, and 3k RPM in 3rd gear 2x. Anyone else never felt the noid kick in? |

I've had it happen several times and I only had about 100 miles by the time I took it off. I removed the bracket and everything that had to do with that thing. It won't be going back in so I may as well get rid of everything. |

Westmoore, it's just a matter of time ... Unless your riding style is way different than mine, you'll hit eventually - And it won't be pretty. Even when I was expecting it and trying to force it (before I de-activated it), it's still unnerving when the bike doesn't do what you're telling it to do via the throttle. Mike |

I've not had it happen, but don't want to risk having it happen, so it's going to be gone. |

I do that, and the front wheel comes off the ground. Stock 08R. I denoided my 09CR and it didn't do a damn thing to drivability. That bike would wheelie in 3rd gear too without issues. Over 7000 miles combined on both (I don't ride them daily as my Blast is for commuting), yet I have never felt the noid kick in. |

Your front wheel leaves the ground in 3rd when whacking the throttle at just under 5K RPM's? Mine doesn't do that ... Now I'm jealous!! Mike |

I tried at least a dozen times today to make this happen.Anywhere between 4 and 5 grand in third WFO.Bike just bowed up and lofted the front end.09 1125R.About 45 degrees.I don't know if temp makes a differance |

Temp did seem to make a difference on mine. If my IAT was 70'ish or above, I could make it happen. But since it's colder now, I haven't seen it. Not a scientific test or documented proof however ... Maybe I've just lost my touch in the cold. But seriously, your '09R lifts the front on a WFO @ 5K in 3rd gear? Is that a factory ECM flash. I'm running the latest (142) and mine doesn't do that. I want it to though! Mike |

Hey Mike, At about 4 grand WFO it kind of like takes a deep breath and starts roaring.A little after 5 grand the front comes up a little and if i stay in it the front will raise on up.I am on the back of the seat but I have grabbed third around 95mph or so and it will toat the front a couple of inches on up till I grab fourth.Found this out qhite by accident but it is fun none the less |

Sorry correction, the front end gets all light and does the headshake thing if I just do it full throttle in 3rd, but it will come up if I clutch it. The CR has that extra little bit of gearing to do it without the clutch. Either way, if the noid was kicking in, I doubt I would be able to get the wheel to skim across the road surface. |

Why does it have to be so damn cold out there ... I'd just love to go out and try that! After two decades of H-D bikes (and an '00 X1), I'm still getting used to just how easily this thing stands up. Maybe I need to quit laying on the tank when I go WFO ... Come on sunshine! Froggy, you are right - If the solenoid was activating and closing that TB, headshake or popping the front wouldn't be what you'd experience. Mike |

"Does de-noiding void the warranty?" I may have the only R where the dealer INSISTED on removing the 'noid; that is, he asked if I wanted it done and I said "no thanks"; and my bike was returned to me denoided. Go figure!!! So in my case, I'm going to insist that it doesn't affect my warranty. |

I wasn't sure about the warranty thing either, another reason I just opted to insert the resistor and leave everything else alone. That said, I did point out the obvious error code to the dealer when I took it in for its initial 620-mile servicing. I told them they'd see the error code in diags, but it wasn't anything they needed to be concerned with or diagnose. I explained it was due to my using the resistor to disable the solenoid ... Just clear it when you flash the ECM to 142 and call it good. Mike |

hey Mike, when you just put the resistor in, and leave anything else, do you get a check engine light too? |
Milleniumx1

Reducati, you'll still get a CEL condition since the engine 'knows' it should be closing the TB's at that magical combination, but yet it didn't happen. Short of programming the entire functionality itself out, you'll get the CEL. With the resistor (or removing only the cable), the CEL only illuminates when the condition variables are met. Once you turn the bike off and restart, the light doesn't return - Unless of course you hit the spot again. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I've been told the code itself will remain in memory (also visible via DIAG cluster mode) for appr 50 start/stop cycles. I can't verify the longevity since I've not made it that many cycles without hitting that activation spot again. I like WOT! Mike (Message edited by milleniumx1 on December 17, 2009) |
