Well just ripped the sucker (damn California emissions) off and yanked out the tubes. Does not seem to have adversely affected anything. I also cut out the snorkel in the airbox. Did my 1000 mile oil change while I was at it. |

Bummer Mike, did you break your wrist on the pavement? How long before you're back in action? Fill us in on the details. Chris |

Chris, I broke the last 2" off of one bone in my forearm, and a small piece off of the other. I had a cast for 1-1/2 weeks, but it wouldnt work, so I'll have this set up for 6 weeks, plus therapy. There is two pins in my hand, two in my arm, and one straight into the wrist joint. It broke against the pavement on landing. Oh well! I really like the new XB9S, but will probably wait. Mike. |

Damn! Sorry to hear of your accident, and hope you recover soon. Your wrist looks real familiar. A good friend of mine can attest to what you're going thru right now, as he wore one of those nice polished SS/Titanium dealies -on each wrist- for quite awhile. Still recovering after 6+ months. Speaking of such good friend, he's should be here shortly to attend the local AMRA drags today... (no.... he'll only be a spectator this year). Good luck dude, heal well. Jody S. |

Took advantage of the nice weather today, and happened upon a war memorial that was under construction. Made for a cool photo op. It couldn't be more American.

My question, exactly,Blake. And Mzoo, hope you had alot of sick leave accumulated as I am sure you couldn't drag yourself into the station and fall down there after that crash. Here's hoping for a speedy and full recovery. |

I was hoping more creative minds would prevail and help me choose a secondary color. All the body work will be Carbon Fiber (the tail already is and I'm ordering the windscreen and front fender this week). I think I'm going to paint the tank black with a deep blue stripe running the length of the center of the tank, fading in with the black. My problem is that I want to powder coat some items such as the turn signals, pulley (drilled out R&R style), frame brace, axle adjusters, brake calipers, and maybe a few other small parts. The rear swingarm is being replaced with a new style that is gloss black. I want the parts to stand out, but look like they belong. I was thinking Buell blue or Snap red but I think they might be to outstanding. Any thoughts? The wheels and frame will eventually be powder coated "almost chrome", and the engine will be black. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Joel |

Joel, There is a great guy named Cap and he makes carbon fiber gas tank covers for S1's. I think he is still working at one of the Harley dealers in Alabama. Someone else here may know better. Nice job on the bike. |
