So, I ordered a Firebolt Custom seat for my CR a couple weeks ago. I was notified today by the dealer that the seat is no longer available from Buell and is listed as an obsolete part (as mentioned in another thread). My question is, can Buell dealers search for the part availability in other dealer's inventory through their dealer computer system, rather than me having to call every dealer in the universe and see if they have one in stock? |

Yes, they can. It's nuts that sometimes you have to push them to check, but the system has inventory available at other dealers. It may be that the "owning" dealer has to do something to make it visible. |

Keef, I had my dealer order me one also a few weeks back. Just picked my 1125CR on Friday and they did not have it yet. They were going to ship it to me when they got it. It has been paid for all ready. If this is true that they will not be getting them can I have them get it touch with you for one? PM me your info Mike Long Island, NY 09 XB12X Red/Black 09 1125CR Black 06 VRSCR Black |

Joe, where did you get your's from? I need to order one also..... Called three of the places listed above, none have it in stock and it's not available from the Franklin Distribution Center either....? So much for that idea. (Message edited by prowler on November 18, 2009) |

Is there a difference between the "Custom" and "Touring" seat(s)? I've seen both terms thrown around. |

So, Gotlime, what'd the seat cost you (if you don't mind saying.... Seems like they're available all over the place at $120, but I'm trying to find one on clearance....... |

Prowler, I'm a cheap bastard, but I paid $149 with free shipping. Lots of places had prices posted, but none actually had the seats. My search wasn't exhaustive by any means, but I was willing to pay a little extra in this case and make sure I got one. I've been eyeballing the seat for awhile and just hadn't pulled the trigger yet. |

I got one of these for my R as well as a zero gravity screen. They both work well. Although my butt still hurts. |

Now they're saying they have the seat but "have to get it from the warehouse" and they'll ship it in 5-7 days. We'll see. |

For $150 I think I'd just prefer to send my seat out to Tobin Seats and have him re-pad and re-cover it. Cost about the same except it'd be a real custom seat made to order. Tobin did my Uly seat and did a great job. |

Vic, Just wait a bit...once the last dealer unloads the last seat you may be able to sell that touring seat for enough to buy a corbin! ac |

The seat isn't a part, its an accessory and has been discontinued according to previous dealer paperwork. |

Part, accessory... If it's listed at there website what's the diff. It's not like an aftermarket gimmick. Better buy my high bars now just in case they don't have them this summer then? (Message edited by bob_saggot on December 15, 2009) |
