Has anyone tried swingarm sliders/spools designed for the Yamaha R1/R6 on their 2009 Buell? I think they have the same size mounting bolt. I might try these, but my only concern is clearance between the swingarm and the outer edge of the base of the spool: http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=5000&L2=8&L3= &L4=&item=STE_SP10MM_G The spools are pretty large diameter, although you can't tell in the photo. They are maybe the diameter of a silver dollar. |

I'll try and look around to see if I have any extra spools for my R6. Didn't your 25 come with spools? Are you looking for some bigger spools? |

Yes, just looking for ones that protrude further out from the swingarm and have more plastic material to wear through if the bike goes down. I've tested the stock spools twice, and one time it wasn't enough to protect the swingarm from scratches. |

Darkhorse makes axle sliders that stick out pretty far if you are looking to protect the swingarm. |

I have the PSR sliders on my '08. I placed the chrome on the forks and a black set on the swingarm. They can be read about here: http://www.dealernews.com/dealernews/article/artic leDetail.jsp?id=623454&pageID=5 I got my set off of a dealer on eBay. |

Or another option: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/520324.html?1260834358 Keith is trying to put together a package of axle sliders & redesigned lift spools for under $100 via DHM. Might be worth your time to check that thread out & talk with Keith (BWB screenname 'Skully'). |
