So my "new to me" S1W header pipe arrives in the mail the other day. Yesterday I decided to put it on. So off to the shed I go... Man, those header nuts and studs look REALLY rusty! Wonder if one of the studs will break in the head? I better use some penetrating oil. So I get to wrenching. HOLY COW!!!! ALL the nuts came off without a hitch!!! Old header off, "new to me" header on in less than 30 mins!!! I am thinking that was just WAY TOO easy... Test ride time!! During the test ride the engine up and dies... I pull the clutch in and it comes back to life. Let the clutch out and continue the ride! I experience this about 3 more times and soon theorize my kickstand kill switch is the culprit. During today's ride it does the same thing and I limp it along a few miles til I just can't finagle it to keep it running. I find a piece of electric wire from a nearby business to jump the kill switch connection. But I have no tools, not even a knife!! Pavement WILL remove wire insulation nearly as good as wire strippers!!! Pop the piece of wire in and I am in like Flynn the remainder of the day!!! |

I love it when an unplanned plan gets put together....and works as planned and not unexpected. |

Very cool! How are you finding the S1 compared to an XB? |

Lemon, I have logged 32,000miles on the S1W, 19,000 miles on a Firebolt and 4,000 on a Uly. The Uly is more comfortable. The Firebolt handles better. but for pure badazz, in your face, harley powered fun... The S1W wins hands down!! If I could only have one Buell, it would be the S1W!! |

Sorry Shaker, it was late at night and I was thinking of someone else and thought the tuber was new to you. Nice work with the wiring I've had my 1125 for a month now, and I'm wondering what it's going to feel like when I hop back on the X1... |
