Alright guys, we are starting to put together the planning for April Buell's Day this year. We are planning to push the date back to the weekend of the 23rd or the 30th in order to provide for warmer, dryer weather. We are either looking to do an east TN venue or Suches. One of the things we'd like to consider is a slight change of venue for Suches if we decide to do that. One of the issues we've had in the past is that because of the multiple locations for lodging and camping, people aren't getting to hang out together at night. There are new owners at a cycle resort in Blairsville: The Cycle Resort This place provides for a lodge, cabins, and camping in one location. It's just a few miles from Wolf Pen Gap. It is also NOT in a dry county, so there is a bar on site as well. Would you guys be interested in a late April venue at this resort? We would still use TWO as our daytime center of activities for lunch and dinner. We don't want to leave Brit and GT out of our fun! Additionally, Tom would like to bring a trailer to be able to do software upgrades and have Buell parts and gear available for sale. |

Wow, that sounds like it fixes the only problems I saw with the March Badness program. The weather might be better, we don't have to tote full coolers, and we would all be at one place for the evening festivities! Sounds great to me! The only setback I see is no tent camping. Of course it would be neat not having to tote tents and such also. Hmmm interesting. Unless of course I missed that on their web page. I really like the name! the event sounds great to me. i would say i am in for it. but i won't know until it gets closer whether i can make it or not. it will all depend on available cash flow at the time. |

+1 Beer Fairy in!! Hate to not have the traditional/familiar TWO campsite locale, but it's not a bad thing at all to consider another good centrally located place to party/apply Bengay/pass out. We'll have to do lunches with Britt and GT fo sho... |

The only setback I see is no tent camping. Actually there is. From the website: CAMPING Camping is available, $15 per night if you bring your own and $25 if you need a set up. Showers are available at The Lodge for campers. Book here They will set a tent up for you if you'd like for $25 or you can bring your own for $15. |

Most excellent! Obviously I'm suffering from that 'can't read too good' problem today! Either the meds or just being retarded, you choose! Are we there yet?? |

Sounds fantastic!! Now to decide if I'm going to go to Homecoming or April Buell's day. I doubt I'll get a porch pass for both. |

Fatty - I think you have your answer. Roll with it! Chad - the trick is to bring your wife with you! Of course I've told M2nc that there are some events I'd go to, with or without him - LOL! Post up dates when you can. Have to plan our children's birthday parties around April Buell's Day. Priorities, priorities. (Message edited by ulywife on December 12, 2009) |

I am checking with the resort owner to see what the accommodations are. They are acquiring parts of the property in stages. I hope to have a breakdown of beds this week. |

Looks like a great location. Since I had to miss Buelltoberfest, I need a twisty riding fix BAD. |

So which weekend would be the best, the 23rd or the 30th? |

Too me, it's not about the weather or the venue, it's about riding and hanging out with some of the best people on the planet!!!! If I am off, I'll probably be up there, most likely camping at TWO. That other place looks to foo-foo for me... I could do without all the "amenities". I'm just saying.... lol |

The goal is to try to get everyone more in one place. The amenities are nice and all, but they are parsley to the "steak". |

For us, the 23rd would be better...Carlee's birthday is the 20th, Luke the 26th. Besides that Carlos working in manufacturing, the end of the month is crucial. Of course, we'll go with the majority and do what we can to attend. |

FT, the goal sounds nice. I will do my best to attend wherever it is. I did like TWO very much though. I do find it odd that every Buell event I have attended that people are scattered everywhere. As a "newer" attendee I find it hard to interact and break into anyones click without being rude. Riding to "the last ride" was actually one of my best interactions with Buell owners. I joined up with 5 people Ive never met before and rode in 40 degree rain for 6+ hours each way, but I had fun, plus made some new friends. That would be my ideal goal. |

I find it hard to interact and break into anyones click without being rude. Exactly! I had the least interaction with Buellers that weren't bunking where I was than at any previous event. I've never gotten to hang out with anyone camping. No one camping has gotten to experience the fun of "the back porch". The last few events have seemed to be more disjointed than before. I don't think it's just that they have been getting larger. The getting larger part necessitates a wider scattering of accommodations. |

This sounds great to me. I stayed in a cabin during March Badness last year. I was separated from everyone and couldn't get out of the muddy driveway all day Saturday. The Cycle Resort looks nice and April may be drier. |
