Hans, for some reason, your pic looks photoshop'ed... judging from the bike tire, my guess is that it's the flash you used? |

Dana, Nice paint job !!! To whomever it may concern, You know, some women maybe shouldn't wear certain things, BUT some men shouldn't be allowed to SPEAK either. LOL !!! Heartless bastards! (Message edited by Whatever on May 07, 2003) |

Charlotte, You will never catch me wearing a speedo. I know my limits. Obviously others don't. |

Well I lied: My son looked today with his hawk eyes very closely and he discovered one little white spot on the tank of which I could not persuade him (nor myself) to be "left-over-saw-dust". The original airbox is just FINE: Now I start to appreciate that voluminous thing more and more. The white spot on the tire is a small piece of wood. While you are so suspicious here an untouched crop: No, Photoshop constructions are made by me always very roughly with a clear clue that the picture is manipulated, as has been done with the license plate. I ask myself always why those plates are covered in the USA: Here you can just ask who the owner is of any plate, so why bother ? Hans |

didn't mean to imply anything...just looked odd. again, it might be the flash you are using to take the photo. at least the damage was not too bad (Message edited by jim_m on May 07, 2003) |

Jim, I think it's the compression Hans used in order to get the pic file size below the 50KB limit that causes the pic to look photoshopped. |

Thanks Blake, indeed that picture was an hard one to compress. It was dark, the weak camera (fill in) flash was used and the sensitivity at 800 ASA which made a noisy picture. After (over)-using Neatimage it could be brought down under the limits with help of the magic compressor of Xcom. The wood looks quite unnatural and smooth. That accident has turned out to be an incident and only some stiffness in my back reminds me. Looks better this way: Ready for a ride again. |

I love the look but it pains me every time I see a Buell parted out. Of course it pains another part of me to think about riding a hardtail. JT |

Who guards the streets for the CEO's of Microsoft, Starbucks, Tully's, etc? Three of 'em stood behind me and admired the Buell as I snapped this photo while the Buell was parked in a "police only" spot. Nice. |

That's the California charcoal cannister. How long do you think it will be before that unsightly turd is removed from the bike. James |

Krassh, that's cool, I can't tell you how may times I've look at the charcoal cannister on the 9S and thought "Is that the only place that they could have put it?" At least Cali doesn't do regular motorcycle inspections, or I'd be putting mine on and taking it back off regularly. James |

Hey James did you just tuck the vent tubes someplace, plug them, or remove them? Why would they even have the fuel injection system venting to a charcoal canister, it is not like a carb with a float bowl. I can see the tank being vented for enviro concerns. This is the first bike I have had to remove the charcoal system from my GTS-1000 if it has one is so well hidden I never found it. But then again it might only have one for the tank since it is fuel injected. Anyway if you could let me know what you did when you took yours off I would appreciate it. Thanks, Ken |

Ken, I ride a Blast, so the vent tubes are different. Try looking in the archives, or asking in the XB9 section on the quick board, I'm sure someone can help you out. James |

ahh... charcoal canister. Now I see. My guess is that Erik was thinking of you all out there in Kalifornia when he designed it. Rather than hiding it down deep somewhere where it's a PITA to get to, he made it easy to rip that fooker off there! Cheers! Jody S. |
