Oh no! My PA state registration came back in the mail today. Clear as day, Manufacturer is listed and Harley Davidson. No more Buell like my others. Now I can't argue with people when they tell me I ride a Harley. Doh! This happen to anyone else's recent registration? |

Mine in MO says BUEL (four letter max). For those of you showing H-D language on your Title / Registration, I'd have to wonder if your dealer put that on the application paperwork. Most DMV's just use whatever is listed in the blocks, even if it's wrong. Mike |

For the guys with HD on their registration who have Buells; that just might get you a break on insurance coverage. Many companies still list Buells not as sport bikes with the additional "risk" factor. My Dairyland insurance does this. Everybody knows HD does not make any true "sport bikes" HA! Bob |

Interesting, never heard of this until it came today. Looks like I'm late to the party, as usual. Cruiser, lol. I might try this. |

Can this be because Buell are no longer classed as a manufacturer? Must be one of the fastest bikes HD have produced - what a laugh |

Very odd. I would think the manufacturer listed on your title would come from the certificate of origin. My 09r came with a cert that listed Buell as the manu. |

Nope, the thread I linked to is about a year old. |

I almost had my first Buell titled as a Bricklin. The gal in the County Treasurers office . . . looking at the list of manufacturers . . . told me "There is no Buell . . it goes from Bricklin to Buick and even I know it's not a Buick, so it MUST be a Bricklin". We compromised on Harley-Davidson when I showed her the Topeka Harley-Davidson paperwork. |

My title says Buell. I think the post above about the DMV using what ever the dealer put on the paperwork is correct. If anyone says it's NOT a Buell, have them look at the manufacturer sticker on the steering stem. |

^^ You make a good point, but not the case in my example. EVERY piece of paperwork from the dealer says Buell. Must be a state thing. |
