Guys, Have a question, I have a flat on one of my 1125r's, I have the stand, tools, and new tire and rear brake pads. I have the service manual, I read the wheel removal section, doesn't sound very difficult, however to replace the rear wheel it tells you to repeat in reverse order, but it doesn't really address the belt tension. Once I get the rear wheel off, get the work done, what am I looking at trying to get the axle back in with the belt on the pulley. It seems to have a lot of tension to me. | ||

the rear axle is tapered such that when loosening the axle, the tension will be released off the belt. You can slip the belt off the rear sprocket and continue as you need to... then when reinstalling everything, slide the axle into place and slip the belt over the sprocket while everything's still loose. When you start tightening the axle up, you'll see how the tapering works to tighten up the belt. Pretty neat, very easy and simple.
