Bobert, I am staying with you! I think we're going Saturday... that's what I think. What do you think? We gona ride? If it's clear? We gona go frown at the guys in the Harley booth? I'm thinking of riding to East Troy in June for the Buell HomeComming. Much will depend on my job situation, but it would be cool to go... Speaking of cool, it was 27 F this morning at 6am when I left for work. I've had someone try to kill me everyday for the last 6. Best was last night when a BMW parked on the right made a u-turn into me, riding in the left of two lanes. A quick directional adjustment from me and the bitch passed about 2 inches behind me... Trucks fade into my lane. Cars explode in front of me. What's a poor scooter goob to do? |

I plan to go to the Downtown Harley-Davidson/Buell meeting at 11am. After the meeting, many of us Buelligans will be riding up to the IMS. Hope to see you there! |

The BRAG, BORG, er.. BLARG...er, that meeting do sound like a cool way to start the day. Plus it would be completely bitchen to come in on a bunch of Buells makin' as much noise and raising general hell and mayhem as possible. In fact I think it is our DUTY to be as blatently BUELL as humanly doable. So break out your old Buell jackets and underpants and get ready to represent! Now is the hour of our discontent with Hardley Doodleson. A sit-in may be in order... I can hear the chanting now...' HELL NO, WE WON'T RIDE, NO IRON GLIDE...' raising the crowd to a fever-pitch of excitment and near madness befor the true crazyness starts with people jumping on all makes of demo bikes and starting an indoor flat trac race around the inside of the convention center, culminating in a wheelie/burnout contest down First Ave! Brilliant! |

So I've discovered that this Buell has more hp than Betty. I was just starting off, tipped a bit into my turn, and...and the rear jumped out from under me and I fell on my right side. I also think this bike is heaver than Betty, judging by the effort it took to get her back on her feet. So I scrapped the crap out of some cover on the right that only costs $260$ to replace. And of course the scratch has a little crack that I'm gona try to fix for now with some Steele Putty. I don't think my ribs are broke this time, just sprained. So don't make me laugh... |

Yea, I'm fine, just brusied. The steele putty seems to be working for now. The tire just dosen't have enough bite to hold it'self from spinning when it's 27 f and I lean too far. Live and learn. At least 'till it warms up! |

Motorcycle authors Mark Gardiner and Ed Milich will be appearing at select motorcycle shops in December as they make their way across the West Coast of the US. The Riding Men book tour begins in San Francisco with stops at Moto Marin (San Rafael) on Friday Dec 11, and Werkstatt (downtown San Francisco) on Saturday Dec 12 and continues on to Seattle with stops at the Cretins Clubhouse on Dec 14 and Ride West BMW on Dec 15, then on to Portland with stops at Moto Corsa on Dec 16, and Vicious Cycle on Dec 17. For each of these dates, both Gardiner and Milich will read from their books, followed by a book sale and signing. Refreshments will be provided at each event - admission is free. As a bonus, Milich and Gardiner will give away a special signed book to each "author's choice" for the most interesting motorcycle in attendance at each event. A flyer for the book tour is online at http://wrenched.guzzitech.com/booktour.jpg California motorcycle journalist Mark Gardiner has a ubiquitous presence in motorsports publishing. His work has appeared in Road Racer X, Bike, Classic Bike, MotoLegende, Cycle Canada, Cycle World and many other magazines. His recently published book Riding Man documents his experiences qualifying for and racing in the 2002 Isle of Man TT races after quitting his day job as an ad executive. Riding Man accompanies the acclaimed film One Man's Island (produced and directed by Peter Riddihough), which was based on these experiences. Riding Man is available from www.ridingman.com . Wrenched, Man and Machine, the first book from Los Angeles writer Ed Milich, documents Milich's motorcycle racing, wrenching and riding experiences in largely unrhymed free verse and plain, unadorned English. Milich is a contributor to Motorcyclist Magazine, Sports Car Market Magazine, a national roadracing champion (WSMC,AHRMA) proprietor of motorcycle websites Guzzitech.com, Ducpower.com, Bimotacagiva.com, and Motobastard.com and a professional Mechanical Engineer. In March of 2009, Milich debuted Wrenched at the Daytona International Speedway Bike Week Vintage races where he punctuated the book release by winning all four out of his four races on his Ducati Pantah and Moto Guzzi V65. Wrenched, Man and Machine is 142 pages and is available at www.wrenchedbook.com Confirmed Dates for the December Riding Men West Coast Book Tour are as follows: Moto Marin (www.motomarin.com) San Rafael, CA Friday, December 11, 5:00 PM Werkstatt (www.werkstattsf.com) San Francisco, CA Saturday December 12, 4:00 PM Cretins MC Clubhouse 3600 East Marginal Way South, Seattle, WA 98134 Monday Dec 14, 6:00 PM Ride West BMW (www.ridewest.com) Seattle, WA 98134 Tuesday Dec 15, 12:00 noon [featuring premiere of the new BMW S1000RR] Moto Corsa (www.motocorsa.com) Portland, Oregon Wednesday December 16, 6:30 PM Vicious Cycle (www.viciouscycle.com) Portland, Oregon Thursday December 17, 7:00 PM For information on this press release, please contact Ed Milich: info@wrenchedbook.com or (310) 710-4708 |

Cham, I was really just trying to insult the Canadians. And as for you said Canadians, I understand the trials and tribulations of winter travel. Plus with the juggeling of familial responsibilities the possibilities of things going sideways increase expotentionaly. I can only think now of the future when we meet again in the verdant BlackDiamondBacchiBallCourt for CarBombs and Datona racing. |
