Get a set of tires to run some screws through like they do with the frozen lake races... |

Where did you pick up the chains? There is an online store in Germany that sells the Snow Claw, but I don't know how good it works. |

Don't get too excited Froggy, I was just kidding! The guys that I ride with think I'm crazy because I ride when its in the thirties outside and have ridden in the snow a few times. Josh is one of the guys that I ride with. I have thought about 2 wheels in the winter, but decided I don't want to die. |

Josh, got way too much snow. Lots of ice under the snow, people in the ditch everywhere. Work was closed yesterday but I still had to go in to fix plow trucks. Froggy, those are awesome, I am almost stupid enough to give it a try. A friend the next street over wants me to go ice riding with them, might give it a try on my WR450. |

'Slow - It looks like you have made similarly poor winter-climate vehicle choices as I. Cincinnati here, not as bad as southern MI, but bad enough. 27 miles one-way to work, 4 vehicles to choose from for the daily commute... 2009 1125 CR. Not happening these days. 2003 Suzuki 1200S Bandit. Ditto 2000 SVT Lightning 410/540 RWHP/TQ, Nitto 555R drag radials. Negative. 2006 LS2 GTO 355/360 RWHP/TQ, Nitto 555R drag radials. Nope. Fortunately the wife has a shred of sense and practicality, thus my wintry salvation via situational carpooling... 2000 Mercedes ML320, Pirelli Scorpion snow/ice tires SWEET! I got nailed one day last year at work with an unforeseen foot-deep gift from mother nature, GTO that day. 27 miles, 4 hours on side streets, idle all the way with constant e-brake work to arrest spinning (trac control doesn't work under 10 MPH). Top speed attained was 14 MPH, white-knuckling it on a downhill. Gonna be a crappy couple of months. March rolls around, I'm living the life. |
