buddy of mine just got a used 09 xt. runs and rides great but the 3 times he has gone to 90 mph in 5th gear the engine light comes on and it dies. It just had its 10k service. I checked the battery cables, ground straps, the ECM plug and the tip over sensor wire (sorry i forgot what that thing is called) Any Ideas what this might be? |

Are you sure it's an XT and not an XP? I recall reading that the police model is speed limited to 90 mph. |

Surely if it was restricted to 90mph it wouldnt make the bike cut out? Depends on how the speed is restricted, my brother has a Japanese market car and that would cut out at 112 mph ( it doesn't now ) An easy way to figure it would be to try and get past 90 mph in 4th gear. |

Send me the first five digits of the VIN, that will tell you if it's XP or XT. 4MZDX is a UlyX; 4MZFX is an XT; there's a different 4th digit for XP. Does the bike turn off? Or just not want to go any faster? |
