I just bought an M2 a week ago. Its was running great until yeterday. Tried to put a heli-coil in, in place of a missing exhaust stud. We lowered the engine to get the right angle to drill but couldnt. Put the bike back together and was leaving work. Pulled the choke and started the bike to warm it up, it sounded alittle weird. Pushed the choke in after a few seconds and it died. Bike wouldnt start unless the choke was pulled out. But even when it was running it was backfiring and spitting. Could it be the clutch switch? speed sensor? Any help would definitly keep me from shooting myself. |

Is the voes tube still attached to the carby? |

Loose exhaust or possibly bad intake seals. Search here on how to test intake seals. |

Yes the BOES tube is attached>The exhaust isnt loose and the intake seals aren't bad either. I'm at a total loss. Checked for vacum leaks-NONE-checked cam sensor-GOOD-checked for pinched wires-NONE Anyone have any other ideas? |

lean, stirred up some sediment in the floatbowl? pinched hose? sticky float?... |

it takes a few minute of warmup time AND about 1/2 mile of running before I can unchoke my bike here in cal. put your finger on the rocker cover to check the temp at warmup. |

You know after going through everything, it turned out to be a faulty petcock. HAHA. Its always the simple stuff thats gets over looked. Thanks everyone. |
