I need to get front and back stands for my 05 xb12R and I was wondering if anyone had some advise as to what to and not to go with. I just need something basic so I can do some work on the wheels etc. Ive been looking around on e-bay and I'm not sure if I'll have trouble with some of them fitting a buell or what. Any info would be apreciated

Front's special: XB fork legs are significantly different lengths, so ordinary front stands must be jury-rigged.
Front stand that lifts at bottom of steering stem works mo' better.
Stock muffler has a lift point, too.

I bought the T-Rex front triple stand and a rear. They work great. It appears that the stands for your bike are not available on their website right now...

Do not get tempted by the low profile aluminum stand from Harbor Freight. It will not fit around the swingarm, and even if it did you would be luck to get the tire off the ground.

Al at American Sport Bike has the Pit Bull stands, front and rear. They both allow wheel removal. I use them myself, love 'em.

T-Rex work great. I have the attachment that allows you to pick up the front under the lower tree instead of the forks and I don't see that on their site. Maybe a phone call could sort that out. You want that attachment.

leaning the bike onto the sidestand (with a rachet strap) will lift the front wheel and you could always slide a ladder over the bike and use rachet straps under the stock muffler to lift the rear or cut some 2x4's and wedge under the swingarm. if anyone wants a pic, let me know

I just got the Black Widow folding stand from 'Santa' ... it fits well on the rear and folds flat for storage. Not as beefy as the Pit Bulls, but works for my needs, and only $80 with shipping:

I'm considering building this - http://www.bbcracing.com/old/box/ to make working on the race and street bikes easier.

There are tables out there that are cheaper but I really want a platform that is sturdy, plus it knocks down easily.
