Sorry, I don't know how the whole thing works. But when they (RMR/Geico) ride A suzuki, Suzuki pays them right? Or at least supplys bikes, parts, tech support ect? The other thought is now that EBR is in town I'd rather EBR stand on the top of the podium than RMR. |

I have had Geico Insurance on my bikes since 1999. I have no plans to drop them, unless my rates get unexplicably raised or raised for no reason. As for the decision to run Suzuki for 2010; while disappointed, I understand a business decision had to be made so RMR/Geico could move forth and prepare for the 2010 season. From all the info provided, RMR/Geico were set to run a Buell until the evil empire (h-d) dropped Buell like a rebel on the planet Hoth! Once that occured, RMR/Geico were faced with quite a dilema and ultimately secured a deal that was in their best interest. No need to make it anymore than it. Richie, thanks to Geico, Danny and all at RMR for an AWESOME 2009 Season!!! Best wishies in 2010!!! I will say this... as much as I love and truly enjoy racing my Buell, if I were offered a ride on a different brand you can bet your Buell I'd take it under the right circumstances!!!! But you could also bet if I were ever to get the same or better offer to race a Buell I'd be on it like white on rice, on a paper plate in a snow storm!! |

More details from www.roadracingworld.com looks like a pretty good deal from the teams point of view. Yoshimura will field Tommy Hayden and Blake Young on Rockstar Makita Suzuki GSX-R1000s in the AMA American Superbike series, while American Suzuki will continue its support of Team M4 Suzuki, which will field Martin Cardenas, winner of seven Daytona SportBike races in 2009. Team M4 Suzuki, in turn, will provide logistical and technical support for Richie Morris Racing (RMR), which won the Daytona SportBike title in 2009 with Danny Eslick riding a Buell 1125R. RMR announced last month that it would retain Eslick and his crew, but would be riding a GEICO Powersports-backed Suzuki GSX-R600. |

The people to blame for RMR riding a Suzuki are Harley &^%^&^% Davidson. That's where the blame starts and ends. RMR was planning to run a Buell. Harley Davidson shut down Buell. You can argue about the other factors, but at the end of the day they were .01% of the issue. Thanks for putting a Buell on the Podium RMR and Danny Eslick! |

I'll still pull for RMR and Danny. Yes if a Buell is in the race I will pull for it first, but I still wish RMR and Danny all the best. I have no ill feelings at all toward Danny or RMR for going with Suzuki. It was a smart business decision. You can not blame them for Harley's decisions. |

Richie Morris has busted his ass running Buells for many, many years, first racing (oily leathers club) or running a team (engineer ego management) and he deserves praise and support from the Buell community. He is also one of the few 2010 ama teams with sponsors, rider, and bike. That is how to win championships. He has had a lot of challenges considering he lost his friend and sponsor in Bruce Rossmeyer, and his favorite motorcycle manufacturer the same year his team won a championship. Has EBR set a crew, sponsor, or rider yet? Until contracts are signed, EBR may be a myth as far as ama sbk goes. I don't think you win races with vague press releases. |

JUST got my new quote from Geico and WILL be making the switch. It'll be a slight savings over Progressive and that is INCLUDING my discounts at Progressive for over 5 years. Cool. |

I for one am disapointed in the decision of RMR to run a Suzuki but I do understand the needs of RMR to do the best they can for there people. If that means Suzuki then so be it, I appreciate the hard work that Richie and his people put in in the past they were my sole reason for watching the races last year. But I am at heart a Buell fan and cannot help feeling a little dejected by the whole mess that HD has caused by this. Particularly the intent on destroying anything Buell and although I don`t in anyway blame RMR for there decision it still feels like a let down. Not there fault but feels like crap none the less |

I am with you jetbuilder. what i don't understand is why suzuki. Yamaha is the brand to beat. Hayes and Aquino are a very impressive duo. The only sad thing is that when RMR loses to Graves yamaha, then they will be wondering if they should have stuck with Buell. they already know how to win on a Buell and they know how to fix the bikes and improve them. Remember Danny never reached on a suzuki the level he did with a Buell. and that is proven. That is like Stoner is so awesome with Ducati but on a Honda he sucked. whats the saying "don't try to fix it if its not broken" or maybe Danny is trying to prove it was he and not the bike that won just like Rossi! |

You GOTTA read up on this... it was/is NOT DANNY'S call - and RMR couldn't risk an entire season by expecting their sponsors (Geico and others) to sit and wait for RMR to make up their minds. RMR is in the BUSINESS of racing. Suzuki and Yamaha (and Kawi and Honda) ARE the "brands to beat" - because Ural can't enter. |

I figure that if Geico and RMR had known about Erik Buell Racing earlier, before they made the decision to go with Suzuki, they may well have stayed the course with the 1125R. |

You gotta understand, I have 2 Buell racebikes and am buying 2 more so I kinda qualify as a Buell fanboy. I DO NOT have to race to eat. It's just a hobby... but I DO know people who DO have to race in order to eat. Just aint the same thing. |

Yamaha was the bike to beat in the last three races. Not all year. The Suzuki was the bike to beat. Do you remember a Columbia rider names Caedenas that almost won the championship? Really. As for Danny not doing what he did this year on a Suzuki, look at the team he was on. It was not a well funded team. It was laking in several areas. But he was still top privateer and put it on the box several times. Before you go posting things like that your really should go look at the record books. |

Hayes was impressive to. He was flying on that superbike. I have always liked him. I take nothing away from the Yamaha boys. But the Buell and Suzuki were the bikes to beat last year. |

I can't say much . . .but will say that I think it's essential to be mindful that EVERYTHING on this thread is PURE SPECULATION. There may come a time . . . and that time may never come . . . when some folks may have to eat some words.

You are right Court. EVERYTHING here is speculation. I only know a little about what is going on from my cousin, but there are so many factors at play that most of us do not know. That is why I don't like to see RMR bashing. They are a great group that put their heart behind Buell for years. |

yes I remember my fellow contry man Cardenaz, but do you really think RMR will get the same suppoert as team M4. that is liek saying does Fiat Yamaha provide the same support to the tech 3 Yamaha. Suzuki will be loyal to M4 First, do doubt. some people are big on loyalty. And yes yamaha won the last 3 races only becuase that is when the upgrades where made to their bikes. you will also remember Yamaha was 8 points behind Buell, where was Su-sucky |

Cardenas did some pretty heroic riding himself to get in a position to win. But the Yamahas at the end of the season seemed pretty dominant. |

Yeah, the Yamaha was 8 points back. Danny also rode a conservative race at NJ. And Marten also was out for 2 rounds. If Danny and Marten were both healthy I can tell you that the Yamaha wouldn't have been that close in points. Another thing, do you think that Suzuki will not back the current national champ? Really, think about the marketing positives for Suzuki to have Danny and Marten fighting for the #1 plate again. Both on Suzukis. I know that you love Buell. I do too. But stop looking at this issue as a matter of loyalty and start looking at it as a matter of business. This is the section from the 2009 rule book about allowed bikes. b. Daytona SportBike competition is restricted to motorcycles (engines and frames) produced for US street use and available in the US through retail dealers. So if EBR cannot produce and sell a street bike then the days of Buell in AMA road racing are numbered. Again I say, why spend the time and money developing a bike only to have it disallowed by the rule book and have to start over. I think your anger about loyalty is directed at the wrong person. H/D is the one that was not loyal. |

dude I don't know who is Marten, lol gett he names right at least. you mean Martin when we talk abotu loyalty, you look at Deedley Team, they just announced they are sticking with Buell. now that is loyalty to the team, brand and the most important the fans, becuase we go to the races and we spend our money. |
