All, Test rode an XT back in August and loved it. Long story short, I didn't get it at the time but my plan was to pick up a '10 or '11 next summer/fall. Obviously that ain't happening now! However, would you guys still consider picking up a new 09? I've been trying to keep track of the threads and comments around here about parts availability but haven't seen anything "in writing." My local sales rep says the parts manager will "guarantee" that any OEM parts will be available for 7 years; only accessories will be discontinued. If that's true, I would seriously consider it. Any advice would be appreciated. |

"Parts" will be available, although 'avaiable' could mean a month out. It's worth it though, they are awesome bikes! DO IT! |

If you keep procrastinating Vospertw you won't have to worry about buying a new XT. |

I love my 09 XT. Go get it, you won't regret it. Comfortable, fast, agile, simply a dream to ride! |

My local dealer slipped in a last minute order not long before the plant closed. They managed to get 9 of the 25 bikes they ordered including a couple of 2010 Ulysses. My point being that if you really want a 2010, make some calls. Don't rule out any dealer within a reasonable distance or having a bike shipped from a dealer farther out. Don't worry about parts availability. 7 years is quite a while. |

46champ - That made made me laugh. The sad truth is that I was all set to buy in Aug. I wasn't sure if I would trade in my R1100GS or sell it, but it needed an oil change and figured might as well change final drive and gearbox too as an incentive for a new buyer. When I drained the gearbox, found out one of the bearings on the input shaft was being eaten. I couldn't stick someone with that problem so ended up fixing the tranny at a fairly substantial cost. Otherwise I'd already be riding one! U-matt - great point, though I wasn't too worried about finding a '10 since the rider kit and rear wheel upgrades appeared to be easy enough to retrofit. I'll ask today while I'm in there. I haven't seen any '10's advertised in SoCal. Guess I'd better ask about the availability of those '10 upgrade parts. |

Vospertw, from what I hear only 5 '10 XTs for California were produced before the shutdown. That would indeed be a rare find. |

Stevewauk, There were only 225 XT's made in all. Finding any of them was a rare find. That is only 4 and a half per state... Really is too bad! Vospertw, I would buy one if you can find one. You can't beat the deal, and they are almost all gone! |

2 09 XT's at RT66 HD in Tulsa. I was there yesterday and they are on the floor. |

Downtown Harley in Renton WA has at least one XT, saw it on the floor thursday. However, they were asking 9k when I was shopping around, and weren't too interested in negotiating. That's been a few weeks ago now. I ended up getting one from Eastside Harley in Bellevue for $8200 otd. |

Vospertw, I wouldn't worry, just get it if you can. I pick mine up on Saturday WOOHOO! Hopefully you have a dealer like mine near you who is really into Buells and has employees that ride them. That may be important down the road if you need anything. A few years from now some other dealers may not give you the time of day. |

Vospertw- If you find one, get it. 7 weeks and 2100 miles later on our Blue 09 XT, no regrets. The more I ride it, the more I love it. A fellow coach asked how we liked it this past weekend, we told him we loved it because it does everything we need it to do well at 45 mpg: Zipping thru the forest, Commuting, Grocery grabbing, Soccer-mom errands. For now, it is my end all be all bike. For the first time since I got the City-x, it sat in the garage for a week unridden, because I've been favoring the Uly. Hope you find yours! B. |

If you have the slightest thought about it, DO IT! I love my 09 UlyXT. Can't wait until this snow melts so I can get it out again.

The XB12XT is the best bike ever built. I have not ridden my 1200GS since I bought my XT. |
