seeing as there is snow on the ground here now and my 1125 is put away for the season I've been thinking of ways to build a custom exhaust for my bike. I was thinking of getting a muffler shop to build me a colector off of the factory header pipes and then running a single tube down under the bottom of the bike and fit a universal type muffler i was thinking something like a two brothers muffler. once all is said and done i am going to wrap as much as i posibile with exhaust wrap so the pipe stays hot as to create a less turbulent flow. Any ideas on if i should continue the 2 pipes seporate for a ways or if i should just make the colector right off the stock pipes? or ideas on any other potential problems? |

I had the same idea, I like the Free Spirits dual slip on a lot, but I will not be paying over 1K for a slip on. I thought of having someone make me S.S. headers and add on a couple of these on the bottom.

I dunno, but I would like to try the "Free Spirits" style. Two canisters without the "X" 2-1-2. So it would be 2-2. |

always been a fan of supertrapps, fully adjustable with discs, but never too loud you could have someone make a collector from the stock headers down to one and split it back to two. that is a short trapp, i think kerker took them over a few year ago and now thinking about it i forget who owns kerker now |

I've started a system for my CR. Coming of of the HMF collector, I've got a reverse collector...or splitter to run two Super Trapp mufflers on each side of the rear wheel. Been doing other stuff so all I currently is the splitter, the mufflers, and the unformed muffler hanger brackets. Mike |

I always wanted to build a system using some of This guys stuff. Never got the chance though. Maybe someone else will. Could be pretty neat.http://insideracingtechnology.com/drgas.html Pete |

As long as we're imagineering, it would be cool to have an auxiliary SuperTrapp exhaust (or maybe just a straight outlet) fitted somehow to a switchable electric valve outlet (hot rod technology) plumbed into the left side of the muffler. Think about it -- you want it to be loud and restriction free, just flip the switch! How cool is that? |

i had a QTP electric cutout on my borla system on my T/A and loved it - but i think it would affect the AFVs to much on these bikes - just my $.02 |

Would 2 short-trapps fit? They are 4-5" in diameter, right? (Message edited by bakins on December 01, 2009) |
