I just ordered 50 of each side, thanks to my irritation of H-D's price of $5 and $3.80 for each side. Since I will not be changing the oil on my bike 50 times, I can get rid of atleast 40 of each that I bought. I paid about 45 cents per washer, So... Send me a whopping $1 with your self addressed envelope inside, and I'll give you a pair(one left and one right) of oil plug washers for your oil change!...or $2 for 2 sets or $3 for 3 sets or $9 for 9 pairs for the price you would have paid for just one pair at the dealership!! Haha |

Oooh...can you give us the source of the washers so we can order up some?? I'd love to have a gaggle of them laying around. I'd also be happy to Paypal you $10 and you can send me enough for the next few years. |

I did the 620 mile service this past weekend. What a joy! I had a gas trying to get the drain plug washers from the dealer. One guy at the parts counter asked me if I needed the engine or transmission drain plug washer. Two separate people at the parts counter tried to tell me that there is only one drain plug and pointed to some diagram in the parts catalog. Next they told me that it was the same washer for both sides. Finally one guy told me that they were not crush washers and that they could be reused many times. I ended up buying the right-side copper washer and reusing the left aluminum washer. My HD receipt lists the copper washer as "Q0091.1AM SEALING RING, 12x18". However, I measured them with my caliper and micrometer before reinstalling. Left - aluminum 0.947" od = 24.05 mm 0.71" id = 18.03 mm 0.0325" th = 0.83 mm 18x26x2 aluminum washer (1mm thick would be better) Pointe Products # 99-7953-CP http://www.pointe-products.com/Items.aspx?MainCatI D=&Keywords=99-7953-CP Right - copper 0.68" od = 17.27 mm 0.489" id = 12.42 mm 0.0515" th = 1.31 mm 12x18x1.5 copper washer Pointe Products # 99-7944-CP http://www.pointe-products.com/Items.aspx?MainCatI D=&Keywords=99-7944-CP These should work as replacement washers, but I have not purchased them yet to verify. |

It's doubly confusing because the parts and shop manuals use different names for these washer-thingies. I forget which calls them 'sealing rings'. I only see one part number, but 2 different colored washers on the bike. |

These threads have the part numbers for the different washers. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/404826.html http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/448562.html right - copper Q0091.1AM SEALING RING $4.00 left - aluminum Q0092.1AM SEALING RING $5.00 Joebuell - Don't take our word for it. Drain your oil from the two drain plugs on both sides of the engine and inspect the washers for yourself. Mine are different sizes and material just as I described previously. |

BUMP! Looking to order a bunch of washers but it appears Pointe Products is out of business. I tried the Grainger site but they don't list exact ID, only OD. Any suggestions on sources? -Matt |
