Looks like perfect weather this coming week. Mid-30's for lows and highs in the low 60's. Clear skies and no pressure on the critters for a full week. I've got the bow sighted in and ready to try a little rattling and calling. Let me know when you want directions. Shouldn't your magic phone be able to get you there? NUTS |

Why yes it can my good man. especially after downloading the turn by turn GPS program. Works like a champ too and quite a thrill watching that little blue dot move along as I cruise down the road . I found a trail cam that I can link to it and recieve real time displays with the push of a button from anywhere I get service. Oh me, what a wonderful device my beloved phone has turned out to be. Its become a friend really . |

Jaxson, how's it lookin for later this week? I sighted the muzzleloader in yesterday and what a pain. Glad I've got the stick and string. Can't whack a doe with the muzzleloader until saturday anyway. NUTS |

Nuts, How does that stick and string thing work?? You put the stick in the barrel and shoot at the doe and if you miss...pull it back with the string???? |

Nuts, Its looking pretty good if the weather holds. This morning was a blast despite the 20MPH winds. Had a fat yearling roll in and stood around for a few minutes. I gave serious consideration to putting an arrow through her chest cavity but decided to see if she might have a buck in tow. She didn't but I let her stroll on her way since she gave me the adrenaline rush I was looking for. Ranged it afterwards at whopping 11 yards . Not a soul up there and nary a drag track on the upper or lower logging road. I ain't complaining Congrats on sighting in the smokepole. I'm not even breaking mine out this year. Sticking with the Xbow and then rifle. |

Update for my analog phone totin' buddy. Nice sized doe just strolled by at 36 yards. Got the ole' adrenaline pumping so I gave her a pass while waiting on the buck that wasn't following her to materialize. Gonna head home now since it was an exciting morning. Give me an update on whats going on up there at the compound. |

Update: I'm back in the valley and spent the morning buying groceries and putting in an offer on a new house. Gonna see what it's like living up Bent Mtn. I saw a lone doe yesterday morning but she was moving and waaay out of range. Spent a little time shooting the bow with Pops. He's sighted in for everything up to 35 yards with his new bow. The analog phone in your house seems to be on no answer mode all the time. I miss getting those updates from your momma when I call. NUTS |

How much of the mountain are we gonna be able to hunt with this new purchase? Glad Pops is all sighted in and ready to go. May his arrow fly straight and miss those invisible branches. |

Sorry, no hunting for you. That's reserved for my MOTORCYCLIN' friends. Seriously, there is no land to hunt and the home is just barely outside of the City. They didn't like the price we offered yesterday so we'll have to decide what we're willing to pay. Hopefully today will find us closer to a deal. NUTS |

Man, No land huh? I assume that means it has a good sized pond? If I was buying a house I would be SURE to get one with at least 50 acres for us to hunt. You've changed fella'. Always putting yourself and your wants ahead of my needs now and I don't like it . I thought my suggestin of a single wide sitting on 150 acres was sound advice. There's one on Truman Hill Rd. I bet they'd give you if you moved it yourself. |

The hunt continues...offer rejected. Nice ride today of about 150 miles under bluebird skies. Eagle Rock, New Castle, Fincastle, Bradshaw and a few others. Back to the farm this week after the four legged fare. Somewhere's in there I need to keep looking or a new house. NUTS |

I can confirm the Turtlehugger is alive and well. Apparently technical difficulties have stricken the savvy bailer and he forgot where NUTS lives. I'm going to give Charlie a shock when I show up at his door one day too. |

Doesn't look like we will ever find out. I saw a black one(1125R) with a kit ($600) that looked almost like that in Charleston. Got rid of the elephant ears on the sides. I guess you read about EB's new job. Not sure if all this was preplanned or not, still leaves the rest of us out in the cold. I wish him well and would assume this is what he always wanted to do and just got side tracked. The whole thing still has a fowl smell about it, if this is what it was all about. Could have been done a lot classier.Time will tell. |

Charlie, It's not having the toys as much as my willingness to USE them in enjoyable ways. Riding that big thing through the cornfield yesterday was rather interesting.NUTS |

As long as you don't get in a race with somebody it can be an adventure to say the least. There are many situations that Beamer can excel at.(not so much corn fields) |

Nuts is that the clearcut off of Windy Gap? Give me a call Honkus its about time for the annual Christmas squirrel hunt. I'm figuring around the 20th if you can make time for your old buddy. Charlie, Have you hit the 50's yet during the day? Makes me sick thinking of you down there and me stuck up here freezing to death. Got me 2.2 Sri Lankan Stars coming in on Wednesday and I'm pretty stoked. Santa came early boys. |

I think that is a bit further south, oh ye great acquirer of reptphibians! I was wandering home from Floyd Sunday morning and I guess that was somewhere in Ferrum. Charlie, I know his isn't the machine to race nearly anybody on. I was in danger of being passed by a car up Bent Mtn sunday morning and I had to trust that the 12 mile new, knobby tires would stick to the 35 degree pavement enough to hold off the charging minivan! That'll get your heart working. NUTS |
