That is not a RR1000 it is a RS1200 and with the 111 miles it is in bad shape. Of course that is what happens when you store a bike outside for all those years. Every gasket and seal is leaking. The front brake caliper leaked on the front rim resulting in rust, all the rubber is craking to include the foot pegs. I doubt it would start and you could not ride it until it was completely rebuilt. I saw this bike before they cleaned it up and offered him 4K for it. The shop figured it is a collectors item and that whoever bought it would only show it. Even for a non functional show bike it would need at least 5 to 10K in parts and time to get it to that quality. Frank |

Court, Is that coming from the remaining inventory of parts under Erik's old company? |

No, it is not. EDIT: It's coming from an old friend of mine who owns RR-1000 #006 (has 19 miles on it). He bought a brand new set of bodywork from the factory when his bike was knocked over on display. He put the NEW bodywork on and sent his to one of the top painters in the United States. It was repainted AND he had a carbon fiber fuel cell made for the RR-1000. Amazing stuff. I've checked with a few of the folks I know who either:
- Have an RR-1000 and may want spare body parts.
- May someday acquire an RR-1000 and are interested in spare body parts.
As the saying goes . . . . "the molds were broken" . . . just not intentionally. Dave Gess will tell you more in the next book. (Message edited by court on March 15, 2009) |

Not trying to hijack your thread but I'm looking for an RR 1000 or RR 1200 also. |

I am aware of none for sale at the moment . . . I've seen several sell the last year. There is always one being "trolled" somewhere but from time to time they show up. I confess to being drawn to that bodywork in a way . . since I foresee an RR-1000 restoration on one that is currently in a sad state. Any interest in a nice used RW750?

I always thought both of the RW750's belonged to the company? |

That's what I thought too. Unless it's one of the models built before Erik owned the program. |
