I am preparing to paint my frame and rims on my 08 1125r, if anyone has some prep tips for me so i dont have to strip the frame all the way down to the metal i would appreciate it, i am planning to use an acrylic laquer to repaint it. |

I would not strip the frame .Just rough it up and paint over.I tried aircraft paint stripper.Needless to say it didnt work well. The powdercoating is very tough and doesnt strip well even for a heated powdercoat stripping tank. The guy that strip my wheels said it was hell. |

That is the advantage of good powdercoat, it's tough. When I stripped my swingarm on my S3T and X1 I used a beartex wheel on a grinder. |

Make sure to mask off the area surrounding your VIN. Don't want to fill the stamp in with paint/material. (and yes, I mean the stamped part, not the sticker part). |
