Had a dealer contact me, don't think he knew I owned a buell... I sent this as a reply. Hi George. I rented a bike when my Buell was in the shop. I'm profoundly disappointed by HD's choice to discontinue Buells, and frustrated that they are unwilling to talk to anyone about selling Buell to a third party. I love my bike. I've made it a point of spending a great deal of money at your dealership in support of Buell. I am still waiting on parts after three months for my Buell. Harley has dragged there feet, at this point I am expecting this to be the kind of support I will receive in the future. And am concerned that I will not be able to ride it every day, in fear of being let down, or by the lack of parts and by corporate HD. I realize as a dealer you have little say in the choices that HD makes. I hope at least you may be able to give my feed back to them. Your dealership has given me good and valuable service, and I think highly of it. But the Harley corporation or brand? I am dubious of anything that they may produce from here on out. And am disappointed in the choices that they have made. And may mothball the 1125 and find another bike to ride. |

it would help if you gave some kind of back ground info, like what he contacted u for, what he said. Other wise its hard to really give any feed back |

I think it a respectful and thought out response. Of course, I know exactly how most of my Buell customers feel and it is highly unlikely we would be contacting you for anything other than: 1) a Buell event 2) Buell specials, like 1/2 off on services thru January right now 3) your Buell parts are in, sorry for the wait. {what's up with a 3 month wait on parts, we've never seen that on 1125's yet} Here are a handful of my recent buyers, two having just bought 2nd bikes (note happy tags) and two just had thei620 mile service done. High Country riding in the Rocky Mtns on a 69 degree November day.

context was simple. The last time I took my bike to the dealership it took longer than expected. I'd rented a Harley when the Buell was in a dealership. It was cheaper and easier then cab or bus. I'd bought the Buell from another dealer but liked their (Seattle Downtown Harley) service better. They had records of my rental, but did not connect the dots that I was a Buell owner. He emailed me asking if I wanted to rent or buy a Harley. |
