Put the QD seat kit on from American Sport Bike and added the battery tender plug to the bike (09 CR). I ran the battery tender cord to the opening in the rear plastic just in front of the left footpeg. Easy access but still out of the way. That way I don't have to remove the seat to charge the battery. I can post pics if you like. Next plans are to plug into the accessory wiring so I can run a GPS. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! |

09s did not. 10s were going to. And yes, there's plenty of jokes to be made regarding a bike coming with a tender plug already installed. My favorite...the bike will sit on the dealership floor so long, it will require a tender to keep the battery charged. (Message edited by kidder on November 26, 2009) |

Yes, please post pics of your install. Where did you get the Battery Tender plug? I have an 09 as well - and I call him Darth Maul! Very Cool. Here's mine (I know, the 10th time I've posted pics of him, but can you blame me?) Jeff

Sorry - no more pics of Maul unless it's something new and specific. Anyway, my understanding is that only the 2010 1125's come with Battery Tender plugs already installed. Not a big deal, I just need to know where to get the BT plug to attach to the battery terminals. Jeff |

Jng, I bought the plug at my local Suzuki dealership. You can find them at most dealerships, Cycle Gear, etc. I'll post up some pics tomorrow when there's better light. |

My dealer had the plug preinstalled on all their 1125's. So I have the plug but no charger yet. |

My '08 1125r and the '09 SCG both had tender plugs installed and we got HD tenders upon purchase. Pretty freakin sweet deal. IMO |

My 09 CR also came with a tender plug and my battery tender jr. plugs right into it. Maybe mine is actually a 2010. Mine was zip tied to the passenger peg bracket and now it tucks up between the subframe and plastic, since removing the passenger pegs. |

My '09 CR came with the cable and an "official" HD battery tender. The cable comes out down by the right side passenger peg. I will be relocating that soon... |

The "2010 models came with tender wires" was a JOKE. Somebody's crappy sense of humor relating to how long Buell's sat on the showroom floor. Tender cables are a dealer installed option. Zack |

My '08 came with tender plug installed. It's a smart move for any dealer- the plug is cheap, it lets you charge bikes on the floor as needed, and it facilitates an accessory upsell if the customer doesn't already have a trickle charger. |

Zac4mac, You are wrong. I pulled this straight from the Buell website. "Battery Tender Plug New for 2010, a battery tender plug comes standard and is conveniently located underneath the passenger seat for easy access." |

Kidder - you are right. my bust. Found it on the "full list of features". I had seen it sarcastically referred to in a StuporBike Planet article. I have not seen any 2010 models except the one at the Dealer Show, and they wouldn't let me take it apart. Every H-D and Buell I've seen so far gets a tender harness and a "dip-dot" that IDs us as the selling dealer as part of "Dealer prep". Apologies for bad info... Zack |

I advise you guys to check the wiring route the tender plug takes, the dealer i got mine from hadn't done the best of jobs, it had worn through the rubber and the copper core was exposed ! could of caused problems if i hadn't changed that tender for a posh new one |

Here's pics of how I routed my tender plug: The pic below shows the positive/negative connected. Note the negative wire ziptied to the routing of the negative cables already going to the battery.
This shows the cable ziptied to the frame.
This pic shows the plug sticking out of the bodywork. It's out of the way but still easily accessible.

I picked up a $20 Battery Tender Jr at CycleWorld today ... Black Friday special ... 1/2 Price. The Harley plug the dealer installed is larger but the Battery Tender JR plug still fit and works properly. |

I had the same experience as Avalaugh, but I noticed it before it wore through. The routing the dealer used had the seat/pillion tab hitting the negative line. I rerouted that and dropped it out near the fuel vent tube, passenger foot peg. Now when I get home, I connect it and my make-shift 'runs outside' fuel vent line all at once and in the same location. Might be a dumb question but is that red piece of plastic around the battery necessary. I think it's in the way of the seat and I want to pull it off. It looks like an after thought on the part of engineers. |

It's to protect the positive cable on the battery. I don't have any problems with it getting in the way of the seat. But, you could probably remove it and come up with some other way to protect it. |

Is the 1125r a negative or positive ground system? Using a trickle down charger, do both clamps go to the posts on the battery or does one clamp to the metal work of the bike? |
