is it me or is the exhaust not seated very far onto the headers? I know my hmf was a SOB to get onto the stock headers as well. |

They are not seated as far as with the stock pipe. The witness marks show that. THey are seated almost all the way into the expanded section. Yeah there were some "words" muttered getting them to seat but, they don't leak. No popping on decell that would indicate a leak, no puffing, can't feel any flow with my finger so I think they are well, enough, seated. Time4Lunch Neil S. |

Ahh, don't tempt yourself now. Slick roads in PA over the winter will just lead to wheel spin. Heck even damp roads here in TN are now giving me fits with this much HP and TQ. Darn the luck!!! LOL Things could be worse, if it was dry I'd probably be complaining about the tickets I got! Time2Ride! Neil S. |

Have been cutting down my donor 08 muffler, in preparation for a prototype I'll have built; and have learned at least some of the ways that the Torque Hammer lost weight: the ass-end of the stocker (the 'lid on the can' and just the external part of the exhaust tips) weighs in at 2.5#, and the front end minus the inlet pipes weighs 5#. I doubt I'll try to delete either on my prototype for weight savings. Just thought some might be interested in the info. |

I'd really like to see one of these cut open. From the looks of it, it's the same thing as the stock pipe, but with 2 fewer chambers. The missing chambers are at the header, and one in the middle where the sheetmetal is. The question is, what's in the round can section? How many chambers are there and what's the size of the pipes in it. It's either 2" or 2.25" tubing, maybe 3 chambers? Anybody got pics of the internals or measurements on the midpipe and outlet sizes? |

Well I'm sure many others would also like to see what makes this exhaust perform. I guess the only way you will see is if you buy one and cut it open yourself. Considering the generosity of Dris and Martin I would not even supply any dimensions unless they gave their approval. It's that integrity thing, gotta have it, at least I do. Time2Work Neil S. |

Neil, it was just a curiosity thing, not to copy it. It's close enough to the stock shape that I'm not sure I'd want to even if I did have the specs/dimensions. If you had a Jardine or a D&D, would you supply the dimensions on that? Collector size matches stock at 1.75" and the midpipe is 2". Who cares? It's not like it's a trade secret that only the "select few" can know. Based on the pics, I'd guess that the collectors measure 1.75", the collector merge measures 2" at the small end and 2.25" at the large end, goes into a 2.25" pipe in the middle and the outlet is 2" after the can. I realize I'm not 100% to scale, but I can make an educated guess on what the sizes are and what is inside the can. Until someone cuts one open, only Dris knows for sure. This has nothing to do with integrity, I just asked a question from curiosity. It's his design and I have no desire to copy it. I have my own designs I want to pursue. |

I have just been bitten too many times by "reverse engineering". If you don't make a point that it's not acceptable, then some people think you condone it. I am curious myself about many things (guess it's the engineer in me) but I don't voice that type of curiousity in a public forum. It's just the way I feel. No more needs to be made of it, I understand where you are coming from. Happy T-day. |

I'm afraid I have to side with CafeFun & Frieght_Dog. On or off the bike, that thing is flat out ugly. Given the performance, I may be tempted, but throw in the $1000 price-tag and I couldn't do it. That being said, as always - to each their own. |

The price tag also turns me away! Ccryder, if you would not mind sharing, what was the total cost of everything, including the tune and shipping, when completely finished? Just curious, I know this will open up a "flame session" on here for you, so I fully understand if you keep that to yourself! Good job!!! Thanks, Troy |

I have a TM too and love it. One of the reasons I bought it is that it looks more like stock, not like some dirtbike muffler stuck under the bike. Funny things is mine seems to fit better at the headers and the tip is stainless, not painted black (even more like stock). |

Read my lips: I'm hoping to do some dyno pulls next weekend. Sorry the Better Half doesn't consider the 1125rt a touring bike like the ST1300. Plus the weather is going to be a little cool. Ah such is life. I'll hopefully being doing some runs at Bumpus NEXT weekend. We are heading West tomorrow AM. Later Neil S. |

DAvid: I feel the same way about it's looks. Buell designed the original exhaust for years to be underneath the engine for mass centralization. This continues the technology and theme with the Torque Hammer but, incrimentally better looking (IMHO). Later Neil S. |

The ECM Dris mapped is great for power and tq! But it gives up mpg. He is working on a modification to bring back some mpg in the "cruising" range. IMHO this should be the best of both worlds (let the flames begin on CC making a "cruiser" out of an 1125!). Time2roll Neil S. |

My XB has a map from American Sport Bike, in the normal cruising range it can easily pull 60mpg. It shouldn't be hard to cook up something similar for your setup. |

Yep Dris is working on the map mods as we "speak". He has to do a few dyno runs and a few street trials and, probably a few more dyno runs to get it just right. Right now my only issue is MPG, everything else is GREAT!!! |

What kind of mileage drop do you think there Neil? On a trip over to Willow Springs Raceway a few weeks ago to watch the Buell racers, I was guessing about 3 - 4 mpg drop. I'll get a better idea this weekend when I ride down to Long Beach for the IMS show riding freeway and surface streets. I will say that even though it is less mpg than my current flash, it is still way better than the original 08 stock flash. AND WAY MORE FUN!!! |

Dris at TWINS motorcycles in the the netherlands. And Kevin at Drummer exhausts are the only 2 places you even want to think about getting an exhaust from . Both are head and shoulders above the compitition . HPE in Gemany is close but with twins and drummer you get real professionals who care about there product . And actually RACE hter product for R&D Dris is actually comming over to my house in Pennsylvania from tht Nehterlands . To tune my race bike because he wants his american ECU to be the BEST on the market bar none. This is why they are the BEST. Vance and Hines may have big promotional ads in cycle world but your lucky to get through the automated phone system. On my 1125R I have the twins Exhaust and the twins ECU. Power improved modertly at the bottom end/midrange but exploded on the top end !! You feel like you have a 4cyl japanese motor past 8k now . The 1125R now can out drive my friends 2006 GSXR1000 off corners pull away at the 4000 to 7000 rpm range and DEAD even past 8k to WFO . Having a top speed run with a Buddy 8ft away, side by side , wheel to wheel to a with the engines valves floating giving you that flat monotone whirring ? sound is better than ANY drug ... I said to buddy if a cop had taken a video it would have been worth the the ticket lol.... Anyhow TWINS ECU(for bth 1125 and XB models) is a great product as Is there exhaust ..... Drummmer also Is an Equally good Exhaust. I use his Cans On my Race bikes the XB12R Firebolts . Best I could find anywhere, He maps his exhaust for displacement compression ration and what type of power your looking for be it bottom end mid range or top end . The differeance was so great In fact I gave my Jardine away free telling the young guy that the jardine at least is lighter than the stock unit and sounds better . |

Brett: I went from 4.1-4.3 gallons in 140 miles to 5 gal on the same commute. Granted my data set is pretty small but I'm pretty consistant. This was riding at 3,000-3,500rpm. Neil S. |

Easyrider: I understand, I'm still rolling. I've scheduled some dyno time for Saturday so I can get some pulls to compare your MAP with the latest flashed updated stock MAP. One issue may be the weather. They seem to have some issues if the temp is below 50F. That's about what it will be on Saturday. Time2get well. Neil S. |

Ccryder, I ridden it stock and with a slight mod to the fuel pump duty cycle and a couple other tweaks to the ECU. It runs clean, but after reading this post, I may cough up the dough and get the ECU update from Dris. I already spent money on an ECU mod from Grandstanddesigns but mine doesn't run like Jake318 says his does. I hate to spend the money only to find out Jake is exaggerating. |
