Been riding the 1125r as much as possible to get through break-in and to get to know the new bike. I noticed the last couple of times that I rode at start-up the battery light was on for a little bit longer than I would have thought normal. I parked it for 5 days and the battery goes completely dead, 5 volts showing on a meter. I finally get it completely recharged, fire it up and it appears to be running at 14 volts. I let it come out of cold mode then hit high idle(max rpm) still 14 volts on the meter. I check draw with the key off and it's in the milliamp range. anyone have any thoughts. | ||

Silly one but loose Battery cables? or of course stator issue. | ||

Do you have an early model R ? If so, see your dealer about new ECM mapping. The early versions had some bad ECM information in them dealing with battery drain. Mike | ||

Checked the battery cables at the battery. They were fine. However, I will check the other ends though. The bike is an 08 built in may. However it has the O5 map. I know there is a newer one but it just came out and I haven't been to the dealer yet, will get that done at the next available chance. | ||

If it's under warranty, get it into a dealer for proper diagnostics...non of which is proven herein. Forums remain a hit and miss at that. Fact. Getting "lucky" with a resolve isn't good enough, IMO. UNLESS, we change the subject matter entirely!!!!  | ||

Put a load test on the battery after you charge it and it sits for awhile.Might have a bad cell in the battery. | ||

One other possible problem is the cluster. If you still have the original, some of them had a small draw even with the key off. Mine died in about the same timeframe, replaced under warranty, both battery and cluster. |
