Has anyone repainted the strips around their wheels? Or the brake caliper? I have a black CR so obviousdly it has red trim. I'd like to change everything that's red on my bike to green. Wheels, caliper and airbox stickers. The stickers seems like it may be the hard part. I don't want to "de-badge" my bike but I may have to do this to "go green" Is the red on the wheels just painted on? Anyone repainted any of this stuff? Or had new airbox stickers made? |

Black stickers would work and look good. As for the stripe, I am not sure how it is applied, but you can get those ebay wheel stripe kits and give that a try. The airbox (and all other decals) are available from your favorite Buell dealer. |

I too would like to remove the "Red Stripe". Not sure how to go about it. |

Froggy, I don't think the dealer has the stickers I'm looking for. My bike is black, so it has the black stickers with the red "outline". What I want is a similiar sticker with a green outline. I'm pretty sure IF I can make this work, I'll have to have those stickers custom made. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with having the decals made. |

Also if you're good with an X-acto blade, get green tape/decal big enough to completely cover your airbox "Buell" logos. Smooth them on - the logo has an indent that seperates the outline from the letters. Cut it out by hand. |

"Tape works makes all colors of wheel stripes" People will know if you tape your wheel stripes..."Hey, I think that guy's rim is bent 'cause it keeps wiggling." The best way is to have the wheel spun while you paint the stripe. -Just my $.02 |

If you take your time the rimstripes come out pretty good. I just actually ordered a set for my CR. |

I clicked on this thread, because from the title I thought someone else was finally wishing for the instrument cluster to be green instead of red! For me, the red glow in my lower peripheral vision is a constant 'alarm' because red on an instrument panel normally means 'danger'. But instead somebody's worried about the colour of their bloody wheel stripes. OMG! |

I think wheel stripes would be your best bet from a stripe perspective. Redescuell - I don't believe he asked for personal opinions if you agreed with him or not. I hate to see car/motorcycle forums that needlessly turn into bash sessions. |

"I don't believe he asked for personal opinions if you agreed with him or not. I hate to see car/motorcycle forums that needlessly turn into bash sessions." Then you shouldn't be on BadWeb, that's all that this place is, not that much helpfulness or welcoming really, mostly just guys going off on each other.

This is a very strange place. I'm not concerned about whatshisname. If his comment is the worst thing that happens to me, I'm golden. I'm looking forward to tomorrow!! Not the meal, but the warm weather and unclogged roads!! It's been raining and I've been busy. I get to ride for the 1st time in 2 weeks tomorrow!! |
