well my transformation has begun.... After a week or so of tinkering I feels and looks like it should have come from the factory this way. I got a local powder coater to almost match the frame perfect, and it took a lot of cutting and welding to get the tail light in there but turned out perfect!

I dig it! Used to have a Lightning. I never do the 2 up thing, so it really is a matter of looks, but I do like the Lightning tail. In white, it would be the shiznit. What mirrors are those? And what are you doing for front signals? R |

It's ok. I thought this would have looked better then it does. I think you should have used the Long tail it would have fit better.. You did a nice job though! You got a closer pic of the tail light? |

personally I think the long tail looks like a big banana seat, and in my book banana seats look like crap! But thanX for the constructive criticism. |

Rieguy187, Don’t let the style sensitive feedback from others get you fired up. What matters is no matter what preference you have looks wise, you’ve shown a mastery of execution, it’s truly nice work done cleanly. Do you happen to have any close ups on the frame to subframe joints? Or a little step-by-step pictures of the transformation? Congrats on such a well done project. I'm actually going to put a new under tail on it when it comes in at the dealer so I'll get some good close ups this week. |

everyone has problems with those seats not holding up. I'm going to get a cowl for the back that'll make it look even better |

Sweet, sweet work. Very nice. Was it bolt on? If not what did you have to do to the subframe? |

Hi Rieguy187 i must say that bike looks great, and i have one question about it. Did the height of the seat stayed the same or is it any lower? I will probably buy a cr if i'll had lucky (my xb was totaled this saturday) but i need to lower the seat. The stock is to tall for me! I can't reach the ground! And what seat did you use...s or scg? That is awesome. The Lightning tail IMHO has always been the best looking tail section on any Buell. Stellar job and I know it wasnt an easy one. |
